Tai,

Over the last week, I have experienced hunger 2-4 times each day. The days it

was only twice followed days when I ate significantly more food at social

occasions. I've been pleased to find 3x a day happening, but so far, it's not

lining up very well with family mealtimes. Other people's schedules are a

problem for me too, Tai. At the moment, I have a goal of eventually mostly

syncing up with the family for dinner, but I'm not sure how to get there yet. I

seem to be floundering my way in the right direction, though, because I've eaten

with the family (and definitely hungry) much more this week than last week.

I would like to be, since I often must adhere to others' schedules. I

experienced hunger once today and happy that I did so, but this leads me to ask

you all a question:

I also read that because many food contain some % of water, what is probably

thirst gets received as 'hunger'. I found that this could be something that had

plagued me for a long time. Finding a way to help me increase my water drinking

- without it feeling forced - was one of the challenges I faced on my IE

journey.

Thinking of drinking water as a way to 'fill' up (basically FOOL one's self)

still drives me batty! But if I don't have water immediately available (bottles

around house at work/play spots), I still don't register thirst all that well,

sometimes reacting to what I think is 'hunger' signals. Hmmm, mindfullness for

moisture as well as food?!?

sumami, thanks for reply. Right now hunger is felt maybe only one time a dayfor myself as well but I think that's because I"m on vacation and with others, having to adjust my schedule. I'd love to hear from others about this, I haven't read all the posts yet but will when I come back to the room. Tai,

I've only just recently begun Intuitive eating, but what I've discovered is that true hunger only hits me about one time per day. It's such a foreign feeling to me. Yesterday I wasn't hungry before Ieft for work so I didn't eat breakfast. When I got home it was lunchtime and I made a very healthy bean and cheese quesadilla and had that with some fruit. I was slightly hungry, but not starving. I didn't eat again until dinnertime and had a small bowl of spaghetti. Before bed I had a plate of fruit and that was it for the day. That is probably 1/4 of what I would normally eat when dieting :) This morning I woke up and felt slight hunger, but after I had a big glass of water I realized I wasn't really hungry, but I was thirsty. Go figure!
