Yes, Sandarah, it does help. As you were speaking about the brain chemistry and reacting to certain foods, I actually felt my brain rushing with that thrilled feeling, even though I'm not eating anything now. :-) Great post, thank you! Re: I Am Not a Garbage Disposal & dripping cheese

Hey Tai, Gillian said something to me yesterday about there being three food groups: 1) foods I like 2) foods I don't like and 3) foods that dishonor my body. There are certain foods and food combinations that totally throw off my appetite and my body chemistry even though I "like" eating them; cheese is one of them.

That is, I get a rush from eating them, probably in part because they've been forbidden over the years and also because they change my brain chemistry and move me out of touch with my body.

So, for me eating any foods that throw my body chemistry out of balance are foods I will eat beyond full. Eating when I'm distracted will also cause me to eat beyond full.

Thus I have once again unplugged my tv because when I eat in front of the tv, I'm already on the bus for a trip into eating beyond full. And, I'm re-thinking the idea of foods I like and why I like them.

Hope that helps a bit.

I took her to lunch at a place we'd both heard rave reviews about. I ordered a sandwich, thinking I would split it with my toddler, and then it turned out to have cheese melted all over it and she's lactose intolerant. So I had to order something else for her and was left with SO MUCH compared to what I've been eating. I ate a little of everything, but truthfully, nothing was that great. It wasn't bad... Anyway, I realized I wasn't truly hungry anymore and didn't think it would keep well, and besides, why take something home for later when I wasn't that thrilled with it the first go-round? I had a mild stress because of the high cost of lunch and "wasting" food, but let it go and left. I can't recall doing that at a restaurant before and I guess that's

progress.
