Guest guest
How is today going for you ? I know you've been struggling with IE the last few days. Today you sound recommitted and more hopeful. Sunny Hunger?!?!?! Ha. I cannot believe that I am posting so much today. I also laugh when I think of telling most anyone who's out there - expert in the diet field, or my expert dieting friends - that I am waiting for true hunger. Most of the diet books and articles I ever read WARNED GREATLY against hunger - oh my, oh my!! At all costs, do not get HUNGRY. Eat lots of low calorie foods so you, heaven forbid, will NOT GET HUNGRY. Sorry, everyone. I just have to laugh. What we're doing is so opposite from the norm - the dieting norm. My wish for you today is that you are defiant against that blasted norm - and practice IE so that you are at peace. Yay! ------------------------------------
Guest guest
hey, sounds good to me, that you are waiting for 'true hunger.' glad to hear it, . But then there's a difference between comfortable hunger (which most of us are trying to learn) and starving. One of the first things I learned about normal eating is that fat people like me never know what it means to be hungry, becase we're always eating! Now that we're learning what it means to be hungry, what a wonderful feeling! It's "normal" to be hungry by the time you eat. At least that's the way I see it. When someone says, "I'm not hungry," and doesn't eat, isn't that wonderful? Yes, it is. (I'll answer that...) Guest guest
That's so true! They say eat _____ (fill in the blank with a million things) so you won't get hungry. Amazing. I'm ready to find my hunger and respect it!Kim Ha. I cannot believe that I am posting so much today. Guest guest
LOL. Yes, all the diet commercials and testimonials shout, "I AM NEVER HUNGRY ON THIS DIET." As though that is the be all and end all of eating. I always thought that was a good thing, too, until I found IE and realized that hunger is what actually tells us to eat! How else would we know? I remember a South Beach Diet commercial where the dieter is talking about how much food she "gets" to eat: "I was eating constantly!" Glad not be dieting. Mimi Ha. Guest guest
My point exactly. Mimi, thank you so much for the specific reminder. LOL !! " I was eating constantly. " So glad to laugh. AND at the same time, I have to allow others to do what's working for them at the moment. I know people who are still following a weighed and measured food plan in Overeaters Anonymous - for decades. I really have no right to question what's working for someone else. I can only question it for me. > > > > >  > > Ha. I cannot believe that I am posting so much today. Guest guest
Thank you!!!! You have once again hit the nail on the head. I hadn't even realized it. That's what they were saying at Weight Watchers all the time--how to eat (your measly paltry no way it could possibly be enough food) 21 points (translated into 1200 calories, which might be enough for me if I were in a coma) so that you wouldn't get hungry. I was ALWAYS hungry--but it wasn't good. Now I'm very much enjoying my hunger! Tilley > > Ha. I cannot believe that I am posting so much today. Guest guest
I'd never really thought that out; of course that's the point. I was totally hungry on WW, finding every which way to get the most out of my points, feeling guilty about wanting to cheat (and eventually cheating) due to hunger and food being forbidden. Now, if I'm hungry I can eat (and learn to trust my body). > >> Ha. I cannot believe that I am posting so much today.
