Guest guest
I have been with group with siblings of BPD but my mother also is textbook BPD. I officially went no contact Christmas day. I blocked phone numbers today. My question is: where do you go from here? How do you improve low self esteem, guilt, second guessing, etc. that comes from being raised by a parent with BPD? Guest guest
Welcome to the Group al, Many of us choose to go into therapy at least for a while to help us recover our sense of self-worth and to shed the inappropriate and misplaced guilt we feel for protecting ourselves from further abuse. The trick is to find a therapist who has compassion for and experience with treating the adult survivors of child abuse (whether its emotional, physical, or sexual abuse or neglect) or a therapist who has experience treating the adult children of alcoholics; the kinds of emotional abuse inflicted by alcoholic parents are similar to the abuse inflicted by personality disordered parents, it would seem. Posting here (when and if you feel like it) and getting feedback, or just reading posts from other adult survivors of personality-disordered parenting helps too. -Annie > > I have been with group with siblings of BPD but my mother also is textbook BPD.
