That's crazy. i went from never hearing anything like that in my life to having two boys in my very family go through this & now yours. I googled it a long time ago when it first happened to my nephew. The only other parent accounts I found similar to my family's happened immediately after vaccinations...within moments...not hours or days later. My sister in law is quite content to let the neurologist chalk it up to "migraines". what?????? I hope you can find a doctor to help you figure that out. In the mean time, you might find great success treating his allergies through dietary intervention.

Since my son have such terrible allergies i let it slide.Also, when he has the episode he goes limp his lips turns blue. The first time, I had to do full CPR compression and rescue breathing, the second time hos heart didn't stop only his breathing, this last time he stopped breathing first and his heart rate went really low but resuming his breathing helped him recover his normal heart rate.

A quick google search turns up lots and lots of parent complaints about aggressive behavior, irritability, sleeplessness and rage due to Claritine. Some parents stop giving it to their kids....others wait it out and claim the kids settle back down after a couple of weeks. When I was a young girl, I would stop breathing (my pedi concluded that without even realizing I was doing it, I would hold my breath when I was uncomfortable or something was bothering me) I would simply pass out and start breathing again. Do you have to resuscitate each time this happens or does he start to breath again on his own? I also have a cousin and a nephew, both 6 years old (and unrelated to one another) who both have episodes where they'll go limp, their lips turn blue and they "pass out" - tests have shown nothing conclusive for either boy.

Melatonin is natural and helps w/ sleep and is a good antioxidant. You can also give liquid childrens dye free motrin to help with inflamation. You need to find a good DAN doc to help you. What state are you in so we can recommend someone to help your child. It could be strep induced pneumonia and if so you need a good doc to treat it. I second that! Tom used to lay in bed sometimes until 2 a.m. talking to himself or making up football games. Now, a half a cap of melatonin a half hour before bed and voila! a sleeping child! ahhhhhhhhh.someone mentioned today melatonin being a antioxidant....I haven't had time to read-up, but that would make it double the fun!

Commercial antihistamines have a horrible effect on my son. They make him  cranky and extremely hyper. Quercetin is a natural antihistamine, so is chamomile. Unpasteurized honey local to your area will help with environmental allergies, but takes about 2 months to really make a difference.Flu may have left him with inflammation in the gut. Allergies also cause inflammation. Inflammation is a major problem. Inflammation in the gut = inflammation in the brain. Natural anti-inflammatories can be very helpful. Turmeric (organic, non-irradiated), bromelain. Could be increased yeast, yeast = inflammation. Grapefruit seed extract produces quick results for yeast.Olive leaf extract to help with viral issues and inflammation. Holy basil is good also. It helps with many things including anxiety and lowering cortisol levels and healing the gut. 5 HTP (tryptophan supplement) helps with anxiety. Body converts to melatonin if needed. Excellent in helping with relaxation and sleep. Has he had a sleep study done? Sounds like he has sleep apnea. I finally gave him Melatonin which helped him to sleep, and he did well without it after 3 days. Now he has ear infection and he had not slept for 6 days. he is unmanageable. I can't blame him since he is so sleep deprived.My question is, does anyone knows any natural remedies for sleeping issues. he does fall asleep for 10-15 minutes and that is it. I do not want to give him strong medicine that his pediatrician is recommending. Please someone help. He was always a good sleeper, now he is like manic and ADD. I do not know what to do. Has he had a sleep study done? Sounds like he has sleep apnea.
