Vickie,

Welcome to the list. Congratulations on a successful nursing relationship. It is so hard to overcome lack of support. I weaned my daughter early because of a lack of support. So glad you found us as well. :D

Hi everyone!

Hi,

My name is Vickie and I am the mother of two children, Andruw (age3) and Savannah, (2 weeks). This is my breastfeeding story:I tried to breastfeed my son, but he became ill shortly after birth and his doctor told me to give him a bottle in addition to breastfeeding. Needless to say, he got confused and I had no one to give me advice (the hospital LC never returned my calls) I honestly believe that not being able to breastfeed my son added ALOT to my postpartum depression. When I got pregnant last fall I was once again determined to breastfeed and this time everything has gone much better. The hospital staff where I delivered this time was wonderful, and my husband has been much more supportive also. I resigned from my teaching position so that I could be at home more, and extend the breastfeeding experience as long as possible. I am glad that I found this group as no one else in my family (or my husband's family) has breastfed their children and I have had no one to turn to for advice, experience, etc.

Thanks,

Vickie,

I worked for a year and a half after I got dx and it was pure hell. I layed in bed everymorning trying to think of something good to say when I called in and ended up going anyway. I finally quit 2 1/2 years ago and after only 2 weeks off, my mind felt better and my stress level went way down. I regretted it while I was worrying about quitting but when I left, I didn't feel bad at all! You should really consider it. Talk to your doctor and see if he will back you up. I had a great doctor at the time who wanted no more than for me to leave my job!

Vickie... Hang in there, you will get better soon. It takes a while for the prednisone to start working. And if you have to take a day or two off work, well, I'm sure it will be understood. You need to just do what your body wants to do and no more just now. Annette

..............my mind feels so active and I want to do so much, but my

body just feels exhausted.

............................

I think we can all say " been there done that "

to that feeling. It's very frustrating to have

all these ideas going on and have your

body say " no way " . You do get to the point

where you can pace yourself instead of

trying to do it all. (Yeah, right........it says

in the fine print.............LOL)

I have tried moving around and hoping to gain some strength or loosen up or something, but I am just going to go back to bed. I feel frustrated.
