Guest guest
Hi and welcome :-) I nursed my son for 18 mos. He never had formula and had only 2 or 3 bottles total. He's now almost 22 mos and expecting a sibling sometime this month. I've worked 2 days a week since he was 9 mos and never really needed to pump. I'm not sure what my situation will be with this next child - I may work a little more. I don't know if I'll have to pump and use bottles (I'd rather not). My sister, however, just had a baby and will be working/pumping full time. So, for a couple of reasons I'd love to hear all about your situation. Sorry to ramble.... mommy brain.... S. Guest guest
Welcome:) I am now SAHM, but I did bfeed and express and feed EBM to my first when I was working after she was born. Nice to hear there are others that want to. I got the weirdest of looks when I said that I wanted to - like why do I bother? formula would be so much easier! Fortunately my boss was really cool and understanding about it. Hanna 27 months Kyra 8 weeks > Hi, > > I just joined this group and wanted to introduce myself and see if I will > fit in here. Guest guest
Welcome Suzanne. I'm sure you'll feel right at home here--there are all sorts of us mommies here! As for me, I'm Fawn, SAHM to Drake (21mos) who's still bfing a few times a day and about once through the night. I'm married to and we live in IL. Welcome to the list and congratulations on making your bfing relationship work so well for you and Gwyneth. Fawn

Guest guest
Shelby, You can pump and feed from cups too. My daughter (almost 4 months) had one bottle when I had day surgery 3 months ago, but we haven't done any since. I told my husband the other day that she is almost old enough to stay with a babysitter (and the 2 yob) so that we can go out. At that point she will get her milk from a cup. Guest guest
Welcome aboard Kim, but hang on for the ride of your life. I am Kathy, grandma to Audrey, 19 mos and the most beautiful little girl in the word, at least as far as I am concerned. She was dx with Mito by muscle last June and confirmed by Dr. Cohen in January. Unfortunetly we don't know what kind because the doc said he has never seen mitochondrial crystalize and die and that is what is happening to Audrey's. Glad that the glasss have helped your son. This is the best way to met new friends, but you will feel closer to these folks than anyone else. They will know how and what you are feeling almost before you do. So hang on, buckle up and get ready for the ride of your life. Kathy, grandma to Audrey, 19mos

Guest guest
Hi Noelle, I had the exact same surgery as you did 1 week ago. I have some numbness above my upper lip, at the bottom of my nose where the nostrols are, and the region under my eyes. It is completely normal to have numbness after this type of surgery. Luckily some feeling has come back in parts where there used to be numbness but I takes time for it to go away. Some people here are like 5 months post op and they still have a little numbness....it just takes time. It is only very rare that people have total permanent numbness I think it's like 5% but don't quote me on that. Anyways..numbness, you just gotta wait for it to leave. In the meantime, every little tingle, prickel, or ich you get there probably means that those little nerves are firering up and regenerating again so be happy about it. Take care..and welcome to great group of people who love to help one another with any information they have. Tammy

Guest guest
Thank you Tammy! I'm glad to know that the itchiness is for a reason. It wont drive me as crazy now :-) This is a great group! It is so wonderful to find people who understand what I'm going through. I have a great network of support, but no one here REALLY understands. Thanks again, Noelle Re: new here Hi Noelle, I had the exact same surgery as you did 1 week ago. Guest guest
hi, i am new here, first i don't have a child with epilipsy but instead suffer myself with multple sclerosis and now grand mall seizures, i already eat a low carb diet, but just wanted to know if the ketogenic diet works for adults as well. also i am on dilantin and neuontin at this time, do either have carbs? my heart goes out to all of you with your children, this may not be the group for me since I don't have any children (except the furry kind who happens to have a seizure disorder as well) but I thought if anyone had the time, u might be able to answer questions for me. my diet is less that 20 carbs and i include oils like olive and coconut, no soy bean or vegetable oils allowed. thank you Gwen

Your child will be able to have delicous squash chips, chicken nuggets even pizza but it must be home made using foods specified on SCD. If you have tried GFCF you already have some experience with a special diet, but SCD differs. Starting SCD means going on a limited intro diet for two days but after that you can gradually add a number of foods and deal with the dairy issue much later. Dairy is optional only, not mandatory. We usually suggest a one month trial of SCD will give a good indication of suitability. We will all help you. Carol F. Toronto, Celiac, SCD 4 yrs.
