Hello, friends. I have enjoyed reading your experiences and encouragement. I am relatively new to the group and have been hesitant to jump right in, open my self up, and ask for the support I need. Since reading the IE book and several others on the same topic, I have become very aware how decades of dieting and other methods of weight control have warped the natural (in my opinion, God given) hunger/satiety cycle. I say that I'm afraid that I've lost touch with both, but waiting until hungry really feels good. Imagine that! Unfortunately, I have not made it to true hunger very many times, but I am aware of my tendency to manipulate food rather than just eat (what I want) when I'm hungry and stop when I'm full. This new way of life takes a great deal of effort, and it feels so unnatural. It should be the natural tendency for me. Our society and my "successful" diets have really done a number on my brain. I am glad to be here with all of you. Good night! IE since July 2011

, so glad to have you here too.  And you are so right about this being hard.  I think it is hard because there are no set rules like in dieting.  But that is the gift of it. It sounds like you have done a lot already. Sandy
