Hello,

Breanna is now only 9 months old so I don't know about outgrowing them

completely yet but I do know that when she gets new shoes she uses them until

she grows into the shoes better then I remove them.

Sincerely,

& Breanna

indefinately? We got a new pair of shoes today (size 2) and the

plastizote looks a little awkward in them now. The Physicians'

Assistant told me that the kids usually outgrow the plastizote around

this time (15 months). What has your experience been with this?

Thanks,

, What a great idea! I never thought to do that! Can

you tell me...does Breanna blister when you take the

plastizotes out? We have such problems with

blistering (even at 15 months!).

I'm glad you asked this question, I have been wondering the same

thing! We are going to get new shoes next week. This pair one of

the shoes came unglued from the sole. Has anyone ever had that to

happen? I took it to a shoe cobbler and he stitched it temporarily.

actually hasn't outgrown his shoes, but will before his next

scheduled appointment. I'm just not sure how long this stitch is

going to last and I definitely don't want to be without shoes! We've

just kept the plastizode because it's such a long drive back and also

if it wasn't there I think I would have to buckle and tie his shoes a

lot tighter.

That's a good idea, I might have to try that also! Have you ever had

to put it back in? And, if so, what do you put it back in with?

Pam, 's plastizote did come unglued earlier in

the year. We had such a hard time getting it back on we

actually had to pay for new shoes from Iowa City (we were

in Florida for 4 months and 's doc is in

Minneapolis). That was when she was 7 or 8 months old and

we were having real problems with blisters. No one seemed

to understand how the plastizote was supposed to work in

the shoe so we got the Iowa " professionals " to do it for

us. Now that she's older, her skin has toughened up and we

don't have nearly the blistering problems we used to. I

think we'll leave the plastizote in and at some point try

it without when she's beginning to outgrow the shoes. Best

of luck with your little one.

We will be leaving again for ville, Florida (for 2

months) and I won't have my computer. So I'll just give

you all an update when we return in December.

Best Wishes,

Amy & (6-10-01)

Amy,

Jakob has been out of the brace for a year now. I always left the

plastizode insert in his shoes. I guess it didn't occur to me to take

it out :) I know with ours, it did come loose on one edge a few times,

but I glued it back in with craft glue.
