Guest guest
, well I thank you so much for the info. Reading 's book caused the 'click' in my head. As to going on one of her retreats, I would absolutely love to. I'm in Africa, unfortunately. Hopefully I'll get a chance to do that, though. I would love to do something like that for myself. , I know what you mean about baking. Allowing myself dessert the other night because I wanted some, was wonderful. Without hating myself or blaming myself for it. Don't know if I have ever savoured dessert in that way before. I think I always gulped down dessert if I had some, because I would be kind of ashamed of myself for eating it, and would always feel guilty. Well, I feel more 'normal' than I have ever felt in my life. Glad to have found all of you. Good to have people who understand, and people who can give some perspective if you lose it. Guest guest
, Isn't it great to realize we don't have to deny ourselves the foods we most enjoy just to lose weight? This morning I was at a restaurant for a family brunch and spent a few minutes perusing their pictorial pie menu, thinking it would be nice to come in just for dessert sometime. And I felt no guilt and no embarrassment to be seen looking at desserts! What freedom! My pants are getting looser even though I am now eating whatever I please whenever I am hungry. And even though I'm going through a time of extreme stress, IE is maintainable, since it takes no advance planning or counting, tracking, etc., nor any extra time. It's ALL about doing what my body wants to do to feel good. What a concept! Jane > > Hi Helen > > Welcome to the forum. I'm new here too and fresh from dieting. Isn't it just a joy leaving that behind? I'm finding my new way of eating so enjoyable and am loving eating previously forbidden foods- finding which ones I actually like. I'm also enjoying baking again as I stopped before. > > Anyway welcome > > >
