Which is wonderful because Sunday night they blasted the stereo all night long -

never ever turning it off and going to bed and then the neighbor-landlord had

pavers being laid all day Monday and Tuesday, driving us nearly to the brink.

I'm so happy for you! Whew!

The way I handle such things is that first, I wait until after the noise curfew.

Then, I try to determine if the noise is coming from a party or not. I think

that everyone should be able to have a party now and then if they want to, so if

its a party and its a Friday or Saturday, then I just drop it.

But if its not a party and its after 10 or so on a week night, I knock politely

and smile and politely ask that the neighbor please turn down the volume on

their stereo, DVD or whatever. If they do, then, fine.

If they do lower the volume but then crank it back up again later, or if they

pump the volume on another night, I try one more time to use the polite,

in-person approach.

If the second time of asking politely in person doesn't work, then I call the

police and they come and deal with it.

Third time's a charm.
