You can run ASO and DNASE titers to see if these are high but in 50% of kids w/ PANDAS they are not high. Guest guest Posted February 15, 2011 Report Share Posted February 15, 2011 Flagyl will not address the strep. THe 2 most popular choices for PANDAS is azithromycin or augmentin. Azithro is easier on the gut and only needs to be dosed once per day. You'll need a daily dose for awhile and then maintain a weekly or 2 times per week dose. My son is soooo severly effected he is on a 2 to 3 times per day dose of azithro and his symptoms are very slowly fading. We are also looking into IVIG.
