Guest guest
I find different books offer different perspectives on the same general overall idea, IE. And since I'm a reader and a repeat reader I do go back over material to pick up more support, to give me a fresh perspective, to start a line of thought I may not have pursued before... Guest guest
Hi Judy. Do you have a favorite of those? Aside from the fact that you consider all to be helpful, which one would you remember as being very useful? Thanks, TaiTo: IntuitiveEating_Support Sent: Saturday, August 13, 2011 9:00 PMSubject: Re: books I find different books offer different perspectives on the same general overall idea, IE. Guest guest
The book that I found most helpful to start my IE journey was actually Overcoming Overeating. I actually read the IE book first, but found OO easier to 'digest' and encouraging for me. Guest guest
Sorry, I guess that was a bit over-general! Right now I'm reading Eating Awareness Training for the first time, agreeing here and disagreeing there. Faves are Overcoming Overeating and Diets Dont Work. I downloaded the Overfed Head, to revisit, as I used to have a copy and I'm fairly familiar with it. Geneen Roth, I read all the books she had out about ten-fifteen years ago, and I guess it was just not the right time for me, although I found her inspirational and witty she did not seem to be offering me much in the way of practical slot a into tab b instruction, which is what I think I really needed at the time. I know I've read Intuitive Eating, can't recall where my copy is right now, as well as one about "getting out of food jail" and some others. Maybe I'm just a slow learner... Guest guest
Tai, My current favorite is " The Overfed Head " by Rob s. It's short and very practical. Bill posted a PFD of the free online version, or you can get it from their website by signing up for the newsletter. Guest guest
Hi, My favorite book is Intuitive Eating. I just like the way it's laid out. I like the step by step approach. I haven't read a lot of IE books, but I did also like Overcoming Overeating. Guest guest
It was the most comprehensive for me, although I also found Wasink's "Mindless Eating" to be very helpful too in recognizing the times I zone out when eating.Sara
