Guest guest
Sandy, today's paper had an article about Nieditch, the founder of Weight Watchers. Interesting lady. She lives in the area, maybe that's why they had an article about her. Anyway, she said that sometimes people say they wish they weren't fat while they're eating that piece of cake. Meantime she said, all they have to do is put down the fork! I thought, hmmm -- you may be right to an extent, but for chronic overeaters, it isn't so easy to "put down that fork." That is why IE is so much more effective than a "diet" like Weight Watchers. I am sure WW works for some people. I was on WW at least twice, and of course, both times lost weight, only to regain it. No ... the thinking process we are learning to incorporate is far more powerful than any diet regimen. Regards to all...TaiTo: IntuitiveEating_Support Sent: Monday, June 27, 2011 6:58 AMSubject: Re: How do you do, she said... Judy, welcome. Glad to have you aboard. It's good you have read a lot and are now starting to put it into practice. Baby steps are good. It is a process and not an overnight weight loss scheme.. I n fact it is more about life than weight loss. So again welcome. Keep posting and let us know how it is going for you. Sandy I'm new here -- I've always been a lurker online, so I decided to go for a change and actually post. My unhappy relationship with food has a long history, with a few uneasy truces along the way. I've read a great deal about IE, but only just started implementing some of it in my life, so I'm sure a lot of questions and observations will come up. I'm looking forward to getting to know you all, and the exchange of ideas and support. Judy
