I do. Both diseases are a type of arthritis I have both, too. I've never heard they consider Fibro a type of arthritis, though. Nina

Guest guest
That's baloney! It sounds like your doctor just does not want to lose any of your money. I'm a nurse who also has RA. Depending on the pain people w/RA can certainly benefit from a chiropractor. Dorey <ddorey@...> wrote: has your Rheumatologist ever talked to you about going to the chiropractor? My doctors both claim that I should not ever go to a chiropractor because with RA our ligaments are stretchier and the chiropractor, doing adjustments can cause damage.........I'd like to know what other's doctors have to say about this. Guest guest
Good point. When one of my hands were giving me troubles I saw a friend's chiro. I probably should not have done that without xrays first as my hand was damaged so much already and the chiro was pushing down on spurs, nodules, and nerves. I came home in horrible pain. None of us knew what was really wrong at that time and it caused more damage from what my hand surgeon said. I'd say if you go to a chiro, make sure that there isn't anything in the part you are getting worked on first. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Maggie http://www.4HockeyFans.com http://www.4FloridaHockey.com MSN: Maggies1429 AOL: Maggies85 Dorey wrote: has your Rheumatologist ever talked to you about going to the chiropractor? Guest guest
A good chiropractor would order xrays if there was any question that there was a breakMaggie <meshouse@...> wrote: Good point. Guest guest
I have been wondering if he just has a thing against chiropractors.....hmmmmmm. I'm not confused about this because he reminded me last week when I was in that he does not want me going to a chiropractor. Guest guest
Well he wasn't suggesting that it was because of spurs or anything, just that the ligaments and tendons are more stretchy than in people without RA and so much caution is needed. He does really recommend yoga either because of this same thing but if I was into yoga I would get a second opinion.
