I know this sounds silly, but apple can be tough, because it can be a dry bitter

taste depending on the apple. (I like golden delicious, gala, and macintosh

(though, I have yet to find those in TX!))

Apples go great with vegetables.

Remember, if he doesn't drink it, you drink it. Don't waste it, as it's

expensive, plus all those wonderful vitamins and enzymes go to waste...

If it's the texture that bothers him (and it did for my son, now he just slams

it back like an old pro!) -- I took his 'regular' juice, and I added a

tablespoon each time of juicer juice until he didn't balk at it. If he balked,

I added more of his 'regular' juice.

It takes some time to get there, but it works. My son ate 5 things. Now he

eats everything. You just have to figure out the right combo for him. (and we

all are different!)

My basic recipe that I used for a long time was: Pineapple (1/2), ginger (1/2

inch, peeled), peeled pears/apples, lemon (1/2) or lime..and then when he got

used to that, I started adding veggies. I used Kale first. It's got a lot of

great nutrients in it.

Now I am like a mad scientist. I juice for Jimmy a lot of days 2 times in the

day. He likes it a lot. I tried to pick things that would support the liver.

So I juiced with dandelion leaves. I get really creative, and it's fun. He

eats and gets things I know he wouldn't get otherwise.

I know adding Ginger ale or even seltzer water to the juice was the trick for my son. He is super picky and loves soda. Oh and also add a sweet fruit like watermelon to things like carrot (makes it so much better)SharonSent from my iPad

which he currently doesn't eat AT ALL. Suggestions?

Yes! Watermelon is great (it's low ox and feingold approved!)...I do that when

the veggie get overpowering. I used to use grapes. Grapes make everything

taste good...but not Feingold Approved..so it had to go. (So sad!!)

Great ideas!!

Are you guys diluting your fresh juice? We just started juicing a few weeks ago and our son is finally starting to love it but we weren't sure whether this is supposed to be cut with water.

No, not anymore. At the beginning, Jimmy (and Maddie) both balked at the juicer

drink. (refused...however, the good news was, I was pregnant with Sam so he got

it!!)

I would give them orange or apple juice (or whatever their favorite regular

crappy pasteurized fruit juice they liked) and put a tablespoon of juicer drink

until they balked (if they balked, then I added more of their 'reg' juice) -- it

took about a month (or 1 and 1'2 months of doing this) until it was a full on

juicer drink.

and no, if he loves it, don't cut it with water. :) laura

I love spinach in my juicer drinks - however, that being said, i tend to use

Kale as spinach is high oxalate. (I tend to do 1 high ox to a bunch of low ox

ingredients)

Swiss chard is also high ox -- but it's so yummy!! I rotate my high ox's except

that Jimmy is into beet juice lately...

You are a juicer fanatic too! Love it!! I juice everyday, sometimes 2 x's a

day, as my kids like it. (and it's easy to get nutrients into them.) as a

result, they ask less for cookies, candy, and even carbs...they tend to ask for

chicken, squash, and fruits like bananas (although, I don't do bananas that

often in this house).
