Guest guest
Good for you! I think that's a great idea and a reminder that sometimes we need a little readjustment to keep things fresh and on track. I'm also experimenting with some things lately. Sometimes I find that I eat when the slightest twinge of hunger appears; at other times I can wait until I am more fully hungry. I used to think that a hunger scale by the numbers was too cumbersome and that all I needed was "hungry" or "not hungry." Now I am wondering if it would be helpful to refine that. So I will play around with various hunger scales this week. Thanks for the reminder and let us know how your experiment goes. Mimi Subject: The first 100 DaysTo: IntuitiveEating_Support Date: Wednesday, October 19, 2011, 2:14 PM I've been "on IE" for over 100 days. I lost 5-7 pounds, then no change. I thought at least I stopped gaining and I'm getting more comfortable in my relationship with food so that was enough for awhile. I've gotten lazy and I'm not really doing IE, just sorta doing IE. And so I'm only sorta making progress.I thought to do IE all perfect, journal, weigh once a week, and I got excited about how much I could lose; then I saw that was diet think, and no, thank you.But I do feel a need to amp it up. I re-read the IE suggestions and a bit about even if you are only eating an apple, slice it up, put it on a plate, serve it at a table, sit and eat with full attention, then stop when the hunger is handled. Well, that's not what I've been doing at all!In my house, just me and he, my dining table holds a sewing machine and boxes of supplies. Normal eating for me includes a TV or a computer. So I set up a small table in a kitchen corner with a tablecloth and I will eat everything I eat at home at that table for at least 30 days. With a plate and a napkin and maybe a flower or a candle. And I'm trying to get that if it is too much trouble to set my place and eat there then I'm not hungry. This is day 1.
