Guest guest
Hi All,I wanted to ask Carolyn about her experience in becoming an IE counselor. Did you take the course offered online, or did you do a telecourse, and how was it? I am also interested in doing this. I am a psychotherapist (internship completed, but haven't taken the licensing exam), and during my internship, I worked with families. However, I know that I want to, NEED to, work with people suffering from food and body image issues, and I think that taking this course would be a good place to start. I think family dynamics are very relevant though, and definitely in my case, family dynamics played a major part (maybe even the only part - or certainly the push that got the ball rolling) in my self loathing around body and food. I have found a lot of recovery from that in my adult life, but it is easily triggered. It's hard to shake childhood experiences - they're deep. Something has come up recently that is triggering it.I do believe in the IE way of life, not only for personal recovery and happiness, but for social and cultural transformation around our current views on body and food. I feel strongly drawn to working toward bringing this social transformation about. Rain
