I'm not actually a " funny book " reader,so the only one I could think of off the

top of my head is " Auntie Mame " by Dennis about his escapades with his

bon vivant aunt,if you can get it.Mind you,I read that when I was a

teenager...but I remember that it made me laugh. The movie of the same name,in

which Mame's signature line is " Live! Live! Live! Life is a banquet and most

poor suckers are starving to death! " is funny too,but was tamed down a bit for

the sensitive public and the book has some racier stuff in it.

That's all I can think of! I'm wishing you all the best with your

surgery...

If you're into geeky stuff, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is pretty

funny. There's also the standard comics that many libraries have--Zits, Baby

Blues, Calvin and Hobbes--they always help me laugh, and they're downright

easy for me to follow when I'm " out of it " after a surgery.

I'll keep pondering today while I'm at work (at a library) :)
