Sounds like Alzheimers to me. My nada displayed a lifetime of

BPD/depression/wickedness and is now in 4th stage Alzheimers. I've studied the

disease in depth now. It's pretty much going to happen to anyone who spends a

lifetime thinking bad thoughts.....the brain cells start to die off, memory

begins to fail, anger gets worse, hallucinations start to creep in. It's

not pretty, and for us KO's it truly is hurtful.

nada has stabbed Sister in the heart again, out of the blue.

It seems that not only is our nada's memory deteriorating rapidly (nada

accused Sister of only seeing her once a year: nada doesn't remember the

recent out-of-state trip she and Sister took together, or their Thanksgiving

visit, among other visits) nada also accused Sister of being " a shark " and

being untrustworthy and undeserving to be the executor of nada's will. Sister

was devastated by that vitriolic and undeserved slap, and decided to break

contact with nada, again. I felt so badly for Sister. Sister had managed

to maintain a relationship with our nada with firm boundaries and limits in

place since nada completed therapy and nada seemed to be going along with

the program, but apparently, again, the seeming improvement was not genuine.

In our nada's case, it seems that the disease is intractable and is

worsening with old age. It really does appear as though our nada is on the

" borderline " between neurosis and psychosis. My nada is experiencing paranoia

and

delusions (even hallucinations?) more frequently now; Sister says that

nada smells smells that aren't there and sees people that aren't there, and

nada is now convinced that Sister is neglecting her and is after her money.

It is sad, truly, but its also important for Sister and me to protect

ourselves from false claims of elder abuse, so Sister is going to inform our

nada's sister (our Auntie The Younger) of nada's recent change of heart

regarding her will and totally back away so that nada can choose her own sister

or someone else to be the executor of nada's will instead of Sister.

Bpd and the other Cluster B disorders are such horrible, horrible

conditions, its truly tragic that they cause such unhappiness for both the

person

who has it and such devastating emotional damage to their loved ones,

particularly to their children.

God please help all the researchers; please help them discover a cure for

this thing.

You could very well be right, Laurie, that its now a situation of borderline

pd/narcissistic pd PLUS Alzheimer's for my nada.

I hope either my Sister or my aunt will consider getting nada evaluated for

Alzheimers, somehow. (Yeah, right; like there is any possibility that nada

would agree to that!)

We may just have to wait it out until nada reaches a point where she can no

longer say " no " and just hope that meanwhile nada doesn't set her apartment on

fire by accident, or decide to give all her money away to the next man who

smiles at her, or makes a suicide attempt. (She's already started giving money

to the tune of a few hundred at a time to at least a couple of neighbor men who

have behaved kindly toward her and then hit her up for a " loan " ; yet another

indicator of both a desperate need for attention and dementia.)

Truly, mental illness radiates tragedy.
