I think this is a brilliant idea--we can leave beautiful songs under the

" virtual Christmas tree " to cheer our fellow KOs.

I've been away from France for many years now and am not familiar with Amelie

Les Crayons but this is a really lovely song.Thank you for sharing it! I love

the atmosphere with the accordion going,it's soothing (and reminds me of buying

roasted chestnuts on a winter day in Paris!) and the words/les paroles en

francais sont geniales (mais vous parlez francais,Yenaine?)

I'd like to put two more songs under the " virtual tree " .The first one is a

song that totally gave me a boost when I was a very little girl, " Hold Your Head

Up " by Argent circa 1972.The sentiment expressed in this song's lyrics might be

timely for this holiday for us KOs who are NC and also for those of us who are

facing FOO this Christmas:

" And if it's bad, don't let it get you down

You can take it...

And if it hurts, don't let them see you cry

You can take it...

Hold your head up,hold your head up,

hold your head up,hold your head high

And if they stare, just let them burn their eyes

on you moving...

And if they shout, don't let it change a thing

that you're doing...

Hold your head up,hold your head up,

hold your head up,hold your head high "

The second song is by Gil Heron,a jazz musician/spoken word poet

who is very dear to my own heart because his song " The Revolution Will Not Be

Televised " lifted me up from suicidal despair one night when I was twelve and

didn't think I could go on being molested by my teacher--that song motivated me

to go back in there and fight...But the song of Gil's that I'm putting under the

" virtual tree " is a gentler and happier tune called " I Think I'll Call It

Morning " ,some sunny optimism for these darkest days of the season:

" I'm gonna take myself a piece of sunshine

And paint it all over my sky

Be no rain..

Be no rain..

I'm gonna take the song from every bird

And make em sing it just for me

Bird's got something to teach us all

About being free, yeah

Be no rain..

Be no rain..

And I think I'll call it morning

From now on

Why should I survive on sadness?

And tell myself I got to be alone

Why should I subscribe to this world's madness?

Knowing that I've got to live on

Yeah I think I'll call it morning

From now on

I'm gonna take myself a piece of sunshine

And paint it all over my sky

Be no rain...

Be no rain...

I'm gonna take the song from every bird

And make them sing it just for me

Cause why should I hang my head

Why should I let tears fall from my eyes?

When I've seen everything there is to see

And I know there is no sense in crying

I know there ain't no sense in crying

Yeah I think I'll call it morning

From now on

I'll call it morning from now on, yeah

Cause there ain't gonna be no rain

Be no rain

Be no rain

From now on... "

Merry Christmas!

Great songs Chritstine...it would be nice to make WTO Christmass mix.

PS: Je ne parle pas bien le français. Je l'ai appris au lycée, mais j'ai

oublié presque tout , parce que je ne parle pas régulièrement. Mais je vois

que vous n'avez jamais oublié :-))

> Bird's got something to teach us all

> About being free, yeah

> Be no rain..

> Be no rain..

>

> And I think I'll call it morning

> From now on

> Why should I survive on sadness?

> And tell myself I got to be alone

> Why should I subscribe to this world's madness?

> Knowing that I've got to live on

> Yeah I think I'll call it morning

Thank-you so much Yenaine. That was such a hppy beautiful song. I loved it so

much I will present that to my husband on xmas day.

Thank-you to everyone else too for sharing there music, great idea.

What a wonderful place this group is to show love, understanding and support.

Christmas is a difficult time for many as it brings back what is missing in the

way of family for us.

I hope you all have a beautiful peaceful Christmas and look for all the beauty

in your lives as we reach for the happy future.

We can make new traditions and celebrate the love we have found in others and

for ourselves.

Stay strong my fellow travellers and know we are loved and blessed and that you

are not alone.

Prayers to you all,

Kazam x

If we had a WTO mix, I would contribute " Draw the Line " by Gray. It's my

KO anthem. Seriously.

Here's the YouTube link and the lyrics:

Well we had to pull on something

so we're grabbing at the threads

and now the world's unravelin'

inside our very heads

Glasses smeared with lipstick

hungry eyes out in the street

Same old bodies moving to the same old beat

Had to draw the line

Had to draw the line

All this talk of hypnotising

we can ill afford

to give ourselves to sentiment

when our time is oh so short

Names beneath the lichen

on these, cemetery stones

There are carnivals of silver fish

waiting to dance upon our bones

Had to draw the line

help me draw the line

help me draw the line

help me draw the line

I've been doubting yours baby

I've been doubting mine

I've been out of circulation

where the sun don't shine

I've been doubting fame and wealth,

charity, even love itself

draw the line

I aint saying he's bad baby,

I aint saying he's good

Merely that he ain't so different

'neath the executioner's hood

In the name of liberty,

in the name of brotherhood

had to draw the line

had to draw the line

Need to take some pride baby

need to take some heart

need to take evasive action

when the rumpass start

Here we are buck naked yeah

but where should we begin ?

when it's not the flesh we're after

but the howlin' ghost within

help me draw the line

help me draw the line

help me draw the line

need to draw the line

help me draw the line

need to draw the line

had to draw the line

pack your bags we're going home

pack you're bags we're going home
