Guest guest
Congratulations on your baby ... sounds like you are doing a top notch job of nursing her Aren't babes grand? Makes life worth living!! Shanah - wife to Greg and mommy to Hanah 11-96 and Mason 12-99 (both still nursing happily!!) > HI everyone.. Well, i somehow managed to find this group, so, I guess I'll take an oppertunity to introduce myself.. > > My name is and Im a SAHM of Alyssa who is 9 months (june 25th). We've been strictly nursing up until 8 months, when we began to hit on solids, although, even now, we still reply mostly on breastmilk. (I'll give her a few bites of something a day, but, not jars of babyfood ect.. ) I, for the most part, practice attachment parenting, by baby wearing and co-sleeping. And, honestly, theres not a minute that goes by that Im not holding/interacting with her. I've been married to her father, , for over 5 years, and she is our first child.. He's a Army Reservist, and, works full time for the Department of Defense as a helicopter mechanic on the Apache. He's 26 and I am 24. > > Alyssa is a good baby.. I couldnt have asked for more from her.. Constantly smiling, always happy.. rarely cries or fusses. She's been crawling since 6 months, standing since 8, and is trying to walk . She contantly amazes me, and I cant imagine what life was like before her > > Anyway, thats a little about us.. that way, if I post things, yall arent completly going " who the heck is this " .. lol > >

Guest guest
, Welcome to the list. Congratulations on your new baby. Glad to hear nursing is getting smooth. He must seem so big compared to your other babies. I am so sorry to hear about your twins and their short life. I have to commend you for giving them the gift of your milk while they were hear and for going on to nurse your son for 10 months after a very difficult start. You must be a very determined woman. That makes quite a good mother. Any questions you may have, please feel free to ask. BTW I am Wendi (listmom) and am currently nursing my 2 1/2 yo son. I nursed my 8yo dd until she was 13 months and I inadvertantly weaned her to bottles. I was very committed to nursing my son to 2yo but now we are on the natural weaning plan. He is showing some signs of nursing less and I am not ready for him to wean. Quite a change from just barely making it a year with my daughter. I love nursing my toddler and don't look forward to weaning. Of course it will happen eventually but on his schedule not mine (unless something drastically changes). I couldn't imagine myself feeling this way but as we have gone along I see how great it is to nurse a toddler. Anyway now I have written a book. Glad to have you and look forward to hearing more from you. Wendi http://www.lactivist.com breastfeeding info & resources introduction Hello I would just like to introduce myself. My name is and I am a SAHM to my ds Alec who is 2 and a half and my ds Peyton who is 6 days old today. This was my third pg my first pg was with twins who were born at 25 wks and passed away four and six weeks after being born. I pumped milk for them for the entire time they lived. 10 months after my second daughter passed away I had my ds who was born 6 wks early. He also had to go to the nicu right when he was born since he couldn't breathe on his own. I pumped when he was first born since he didn't have the suck reflex and then worked extensively with the lactation specialist to get him to nurse. I am proud to say that I did it very successfully for 10 months. He weighed 6 pounds 12 ounces when he was born and by the time he was 9 months he weighed a whopping 23 pounds. We tryed for 10 months to get pg with our latest and it was an extremlly difficult pg I lost 37 pounds because of extreme ms and was hospitlized 7 times for PTL and was also on strict bedrest and meds from 29 wks to 36 wks. Last Friday I was actually induced at 39 weeks exactly. My first full term baby the delivery was rough and I ended up having a c-sect because his heartrate kept dropping and when my docter opened me up she realized why he wasn't coming out he was crooked. But the end result was awesome he was crying when he was born (also a first for me) and his apgars were 8 9 and 8 and he weighed 8 pounds 2 ounces and was 22 inches long. I got to try nursing him about 3 hours after he was born. It was a little difficult at first but yesterday things finally have taken off and he is nursing like a champ. So far he is an easy baby and has been eating anywhere from every 2-5 hours. He has been awake for the past three mornings for about 4 hours just laying and looking around but seems to be content with that. Well now that I have written a book hope to gain lots of valuable info and support from this group since my goal is 1 year this time longer if it works for us. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Make good on the promises you made when you signed your friends' yearbooks.
