Welcome Kerry - I love your net name! I think that reflects an excellent

attitude that could serve you quite well with IE as body image becomes as

important as what we eat. Dive right in and say what you need to work on which

not only helps you but all us too when a good topic sparks conversation.

BEST to you, Katcha

and things are going well so far. I had a 13 year history of relapsing in

Overeaters Anonymous before then, trying to achieve and maintain " abstinence "

which was quite elusive. I have found IE to be a new way of life that has

helped me let go of so many old patterns esp " good vs. bad foods " etc. I'm

looking forward to getting to know you all.

The food plan that I was given was described to me as a "flexible plan that will enable you to make varied intuitive choices based on what you want to eat vs. good/bad food categories". The nutritionist and head dietician at my lodge supervised it and gave me pointers while I was in treatment. It's 3 meals 3 snacks a day which works well for this diabetic (type 2) and former emotional eater. Thanks!Kerry

Welcome Kerry. Good for you for working with a nutritionist. I have been

working with both a nutritionist and a therapist for almost a year and find it

to be really helpful. Looking forward to getting to know you better.

Barbra I was curious about that too. And I see that Kerry answered that well in

her next post. I think such a flexible 'plan' could be of great help and comfort

for getting to first learn IE since most of us begin from a 'rules' (diet

mentality) position. I hope Kerry will keep us informed how this works for her.

Hey Kerry, welcome. I was in and out of OA many years as well; also did lots of

diets along the way. The IE way of life is, to me, a journey of recovery,

unlearning, discovery and reconnection. Hope to hear more form you along the

way. Sandarah
