Hi Baycyd

I have been doing Pilates for a few years and find it excellent for

building strength and flexibility. I do my Pilates at a physical

therapy studio, so that dual approach works very well for me. I

especially like the stretches. There are many different levels you can

work at. I highly recommend it as exercise.

Subject: food elim diet & pilates

hi... thanks for your help...

has anyone had any experience (good or bad) with food elimination

diets as tx for R/A. i used to be vegetarian (not quite vegan b/c i

did eggs and some milk). then i married a carnivore and slowly intro

meat/fish into diet. then dx with r/a. wondering if i should try elim

diet to see if i have wheat/meat/dairy allergy. sources are confusing

about whether it's helpful. some say yes; others say no... help!

also... my mom does pilates and says it may help me. i haven't been

able to find out whether this " rehab " exercise also works for pilates.

sure do appreciate everyone's generosity of spirit in helping fellow

sufferers.

I think the sources are right in that it is helpful for some and not for others. Also what foods make RA worse vary from one person to another, and some people find no correlation at all to what they eat. I really think RA is a syndrome or collection of diseases instead of a single disease and different things work for different people. The only way to find out is to try, and diet modification usually takes a lot longer to give a fair trial that does taking medicine. God bless
