Guest guest
That is so lovely to read and I thought the link good enough to add to the Links here at this site. In it, I gave myself the permission to do everything out of intuition from the moment I get up. No more procrastination police judging me about not doing something because I promised to. Guest guest
Hi Foggy, This is so funny! I was writing a post called Intuition at the same time as you did! Sounds like synchronicity! I liked what you said: Self-discipline is NOT the opposite of intuition, but rather the opposite of the Inner Brat. and How do we tell the diff between our inner brat and our self-loving intuition? I am noticing more and more how much I want to say something when encountering a person who does something that effects me. I started noticing that I feel something and if I don't say something soon, it becomes anger. So, I started saying something early on before the anger wells up. I discovered that I need to learn some " preambles " to my message. Things, that will soften my message such as: This is probably going to sound a little awkward ..., or, What's alive for me right now is... My discipline is about letting myself feel my feelings and act on them. My brat is somewhat underdeveloped as I discovered recently that I had been a " push-over " . I am learning Nonviolent communication to speak of my needs and feelings.. That has been helping with my awareness of all these layers underneath. Guest guest
Vera, while I tend to be rather an opposite type (lower flash and burn threshold) re reacting to others as they interact with me, I so understand your " ... learning Nonviolent communication to speak of my needs and feelings. " One way that was suggested to me from another group I was part of went like this - " When you (X), I feel (Y) because ... " This communicates what you perceive has happened, how YOU reacted (for your own information as well as awareness of the other) and offers understanding from and for yourself. It removes the accusing sound of " YOU always ... !! " and turns it into an offer to share, and open a door to resolving (if the other chooses to). Of course another may also have their issues in play and could hear accusation regardless. But at least you are doing your part which can result in ego strengthening and/or decreasing guilt/shame for reacting poorly. Bravo for your awareness and thanks for sharing this as it sparked some good thinking for me too. Guest guest
This is a really good topic. What I learned about talking (from a most excellent book called How To Talk So You Child Will Listen (and Listen So Your Child Will Talk)--or something like that--was using " I " messages--things like " I feel.... " etc and also simply describing what you're seeing and hearing and feeling, because then the other person can hear what you're saying and not feel feel defensive. I really liked the idea in that article about your energy and intentions being in alignment....
