Guest guest
hi there, I have just seen my Rheumatologist and i am being taken off Remicade and put onto Humira - as the Remicade (which i have been on for 12 months) is not working. I am also on Methotrexate, Prednisolone, Celebrex and Clinoril. I am nervous about the Humira. I would love to hear of your experiences with this drug. Thanks Suzie
Guest guest
Hi Suzie: I just did the opposite - I was on Humira for about a year and a half and then got switched over to Remicade. The only thing about the injections is getting over sticking a needle in yourself. The needles are quite small and go in pretty easily. I do have to warn you that the medication itself stings somewhat when you inject, so inject slowly. Since the shots are only once every two weeks, it's not that big a deal. Good luck to you. gloria -----Original Message----- From: suzie <suzward05@...> Rheumatoid Arthritis Sent: Wed, 11 May 2005 06:44:11 -0000 Subject: Humira hi there, I have just seen my Rheumatologist and i am being taken off Remicade and put onto Humira - as the Remicade (which i have been on for 12 months) is not working. Guest guest
People can react to the three TNF biologics differently so if you have a reaction to Remicade you may not have a reaction to either Humira or Enbrel. They are all different even though they act on the same thing, they do it in different ways. God bless. ----- Original Message ----- From: dbargad@... I have a thing about needles and self injecting. There is also the bio hazard issue with sharps. If my body is smart to the TNF based biologicals, would humira work since its based on the same thing? I live in mortal fear of my next infusion because it makes me so sick. I am on a small bit of arava every other day, and MTX too. I will let everyone know how my next remicade goes. Its nice to know I am not the only one having trouble with remicade. Thanks everyone for your feedback. Deborah
Guest guest
Hello, I am on Humira the only reaction I have is a small welt when I inject for a few days..Hope you can get something worked out..Sandya <pdelarosa@...> wrote: Hi all....I am on Humira and took it for awhile without any problems, except a little pinkness at the injection site. But I am on it again and I have gotten a very bad allergic reaction to it. Redness (like I hit a vein)..soreness, burning (such as you get when it is injected). I called my rheumy and told him how bad it was (this was after my 2nd injection reaction) and he told me to use Benadryl before injecting. So, I was scared to try it again since it can get very painful but the nurse assured me it has happened before and the benadryl really helps..so i did my 3rd injection since the reactions. It reacted again the same way...except maybe not as bad as the last 2 I did but painful just the same. I have a call into him now to see what else i can take. My ? is: Has anyone else had this reaction to Humira? Also: I have a feeling he would like me to try Remicade next. Anyone on this and how is it working for you? I was taking Enbrel which worked great for me but ended up with mouth sores and had to switch back to Humira.
