Therefore, cortisol impairs progesterone activity, which reduces the effectiveness of progesterone therapy or may lead to a condition called " estrogen dominance. " > Anyone else experience this or have any comments? > thanks > Chantal > Hi Chantal I have had the opposite for as long as I can remember, always above average progesterone but insufficient cortisol, still that way now. I do have heavy metal poisoning and I think that is something to do with it in my case. Estrogen was always low so I supplement 0.75mg Estrogel daily as I am menopausal. Whenever I havce tried natural progesterone I have felt terrible, severe moodiness and agression, nothing like the real me. For that reason I don't supplement it even though I have never had a hysterectomy. Pam
