Guest guest
Jackie, I would add to that to do one or two steps at a time and keep reading here and writing in. Sandy Hi, Jackie. I hope you can learn the concepts of Intuitive Eating, it's a wonderful way to go. :-) I agree with the others, if you will go over some of the previous posts and understand that listening to your body is the best way to handle our eating habits, you can be among those who are really happy in their endeavors. Tai Subject: Re: New member introductionTo: IntuitiveEating_Support Date: Tuesday, August 16, 2011, 2:05 PM Welcome Jackie! I'm with - focusing on who much I 'weigh' never helped me either. I've not only 'gained' a lot of peace - especially with food - since I've taken up IE, but I've come to find a more healthy way of living and loving of the body I have - then, now and in the future too. Please do ask any questions you have about not dieting as a means to becoming more comfortable in and with your body - at ANY 'size' - and if possible read some previous posts here to get an idea about what IE has done for others as well as offers to you. Guest guest
Welcome. You will find some good support here and lots of good ideas. I think most of us want to lose weight but that is not the main focus of IE. I am glad you are reading the book. Perhaps you could pick one aspect and follow that for a while. We have found that a good way to start is " eat when you're hungry and stop when you are full. " Many of us don't even know those signals and need to relearn them. There might be something else you connect with and that's ok. Whatever works for you. Maybe you could read some of the old posts. Many of us have health issues and are trying to blend getting healthy with IE. IE is a journey. Keep in touch. Sandy (copied over from email from H M Haag, new member) I am a 55 year old woman with type 2 diabetes. I have read Intuitive Eating and am having some success but want more support. I want to get healthier so I can have more fun with friends and family. I weigh 323 and it is not fun to go places and not fit in the chairs at restaurants, movies, on airplanes and not be able to keep up.
