Guest guest
Hello, I am new to the group, but not to dieting. I am 57 years old and dieting forever. Gained so much weight in the last few years. Yo Yo now it seems. I seemed to be better described as an emotional eater I see. 2.4 EATING STYLE: Emotional Unconscious Eater TRIGGER: Uncomfortable Emotions CHARACTERISTIC: Stress or uncomfortable feelings trigger eating -- especially when alone. I hope I can learn to control this and finally get my eating under control so I can finally lose and keep it off. Betty
Guest guest
Welcome Ann. Its lovely to have a newbie that has done some IE work too. Yes emotional eating is a toughie - wanting and hungering are very much alike - trying to fill a need. Its so easy to translate that need into food. And its also very rewarding when you do make a connection to the emotion instead of eating it away. Looking forward to hearing more from you as you continue on your IE journey. BEST to you, Katcha IEing since March 2007 > > Hello Everyone, > > My name is Ann and I am a newcomer to the group. I am definitely an emotional unconscious eater and WAS a professional dieter. I was on weight watchers on and off for years. I would loose weight and gain it back plus. I recently decided to see a therapist that focuses on intuitive eating. It has been challenging to learn how to tune into my body and eat only when i'm hungry and stop when i'm full/comfortable. Since I am an emotional eater, it gets very difficult to ignore the persistent " part " of myself that wants to eat and not feel. I am very excited to be part of the group and connect with others that are on the same path. > > Ann >
