Guest guest
I know some people are using zithromax as their antibiotics. What is the dosage and frequency? I am curious because I am off my regular antibiotics (doxi, mino, and clinda) while I am taking zithomax for 5 days. I seem to have a little bronchitis. (I haven't had this symptom in over a year...I used to get it all the time for long periods before I started gamma globulin and antibiotics) I wonder if this will create a new herx. thanks for the info Scleroderma antibiotics 5 years
Guest guest
Thanks . Do you mind telling me how long you used Zithromax for and how often you used it? Has strep ever come back after the treatment? We used Custom Probiotics and other local probiotics too. My son is gf/cf, and corn, soy, sugar free. He eats a lot of rice and he loves it. My MD told me strep loves rice and suggested stopping eating rice. My son's diet is already very limited (he can't eat eggs either). Have you found any food high in carbohydrate can make the strep overgrowth even worse? You mentioned that you are not gf/cf. Do you use any enzymes? _____ From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of Ladyshrink111@... Sent: Thursday, October 16, 2008 1:53 AM Subject: Re: [ ] Help ! How to get rid off Strep overgrowth, Zithromax? ----- Original Message ----- From: Shar Now our DAN doctor suggested trying Zithromax, which is not commonly used here in Australia. My question is has anyone been through the same and how you managed to keep the strep under control. Has anyone tried Zithromax to treat Strep with success? ====>Yes, we have successfully used Zithromax for strep. My son was on Zithromax for 9 months (yes, 9 months everyday) to treat his skin infection 3 years ago and it cleared up his skin condition but really damaged his gut. ===>We had absolutely no problem with Zithromax, not even an increase in yeast, it is a relatively mild antibiotic. Did you try giving probiotics as the same time? Give them at least 2 hours away from the Zithromax. We used Florastor, which is a probiotic designed to be used WITH antibiotics. Florastor does have a very tiny amount of casein in it, but we're not gf/cf. If you are use another good quality probiotic.==> I am really scared to try it again but also I really want to treat his strep overgrowth too. I am so desperate right now and any advice will be good.
