Guest guest
a doctor and a pharmist who is in here ; I surely do wish I lived close to you so I could talk about mom. I wanted to talk to her doctor but he did not say much to me and the pharmacist did not want to talk about the medicine the doctor said she may be taking. It has a funny name I think it is novadex. He said if he told me something that was not about her case he might get in trouble if she decided to sue him for giving out informatin about her medicin that was not right. I didnt understand that and now you are here to answer questions. I want to know what kind of medicine that novadex is and if it is going to make her all cured. My friend said he had never heard of it but maybe it is a medicin that is just for the ladies. My sister said I should not pester folks about mom but if I don't ask, I will worry so much. I am going to wrok extra hard making more of my crewel so I can help pay her bills.

Guest guest
Could the medication you are speaking of be Arimedex? I would suggest calling the doctor and asking him (or his nurse) to spell the medication name. That way you can get the proper advice. I know that talking to doctors and pharmacist can sometimes be overwhelming. I know it's been suggested by others in this group to get a notebook and write down any question you or your mother may have. Believe me, as a pharmacist, the more knowledge you have about your medications and options the better! It helps improve the likelyhood that the patient will take the medication correctly and will be able to identify and know the difference between problems related to their medication or problems caused by other things. I firmly believe you should know all the benefits and risks of any medication you take but you should also realize that many of the side effects only occur in limited percentages of patients and that you won't necessarily experience any side effects or you may have something that isn't listed. Being an informed patient and taking charge of your own care and health is an absolute must!! You must be your own best advocate!! Sorry for the lengthy note but patients rights is big in my book! Guest guest
I told my sister to get a book to write in and she got a really big spiral notebook so she can write everything down so I can see. I asked her andt that medicine has a nother name but she couldn't remember and forgot to write it down on the paper. She said mom may have to take ti for a long time if her cancer is postive. I thought cancer was negative but she said it may not be. she said something about her hormones and some medicine she took alrady maybe caued her cancer. I surely do hope not because if one medicine caused it, I am afraid for her to be taken this one. > > > > a doctor and a pharmist who is in here ; I surely do wish I lived > > close to you so I could talk about mom.
