Guest guest
Michele, welcome. This site is a great place to share your journey, ask questions, whine every once in a while and access the hope and wisdom of others on the IE path. The ride is a bit bumpy at first as all of the diet rules must give sway to a totally new way of relating to food/diet/weight and pretty much everything. Good luck; post often. Sandarah > > Hello, > I'm a 50 year old mom who works full time and raises a challenging 13 year old and tries to keep a 54 year old husband in check (j/k). I just bought a copy of IE and my friend and I are doing it together. She actually got an IE counselor but I can't afford to go that route. Lots of years of dieting and losing and gaining the same 20 pounds more often than I can count. Right now the scale is creeping up and I am just frankly tired. And not getting younger. I'm looking for support on this journey and I want to say thank you to everyone in advance for just being here. Michele >
Guest guest
Welcome Michele! I had read about the concept of not-dieting some years back but didn't have the support I needed to assist me in (re)incorporating this practice (back) into my life. I found that thru this group and continue to gain bits of insight here still. I did gift myself the 'boost' of using the services of Gillian - this group's owner - when I first began. It turned out to be more reaffirming of my decision than head start I then envisioned. I have found that this is a 'life' process - speed of change not being the major objective. The greatest benefits I have gotten from this have been peace with food and self acceptance in several ways. Looking forward to hearing more from you as you go about your IE journey. Tell your friend that she can join in on the support too. BEST to you, Katcha IEing since March 2007 > > Hello, > I'm a 50 year old mom who works full time and raises a challenging 13 year old and tries to keep a 54 year old husband in check (j/k). Guest guest
When I first got the book I also heard a podcast where Elyse Resch was interviewed about the book. The interviewer, Koren Motekaitis, is a weight loss coach and you can listen the the podcasts for free. She interviewed Elyse twice. Below is the link to the first interview, it is about an hour and they cover much of the book. Guest guest
Thank you so much for posting about Elyse's interview. It has helped me tremendously to listen to it. It helps me to keep at it, however imperfectly. One meal at a time, one hunger at a time. Her non-judgementalness and compassion helps me stay anchored and find those things for myself.
