Guest guest
Holy cow! Has anyone seen this movie? I watched it last night with my DD and I swear the writers have been watching my Nada and took lines word for word from her. Rupunzel's " adopted mother " is the closest thing to BPD I have ever seen in a cartoon. Eesh. Well if you haven't seen it please beware that it may stir up some feelings. I'm glad to say that I am to a place now where I just laughed uncontrollably at the similarities. Since it was a kid movie I only got a few odd glances from audience members. I'm also happy to report that I am now graduated from college and to top it off I'm having a nada free holiday. I hope to get more time on here and I hope everyone is having as wonderful a day as possible. Riah
Guest guest
Lol! No, haven't seen it yet, but I am personally convinced that all the best and most memorable film/literary antagonists are raging " Cluster B " individuals. An appealing and interesting villain needs some positive traits as well, so that they aren't boringly or cartoonishly all-bad (although I supposed that's OK in a cartoon film.) Weirdly enough, sometimes even the more interesting protagonists have a pd trait or two, making them more than just 2-dimensional goody-two-shoes types. For example, ever since starting to read and learn about personality disorder, I've felt that " Scarlett O'Hara " from " Gone With The Wind " is a " Cluster B " heroine (mostly narcissistic pd and histrionic pd, but with a smattering of borderline pd and antisocial pd) who ends up doing some good things almost by accident or in spite of herself. She is " good " only because it serves her purpose at the moment, and holds our interest only because she is strikingly, stunningly beautiful. We (meaning society in general)seem to be both fascinated by and very indulgent of those who happen to have been born with great physical beauty/sexual appeal/charisma; when such a person behaves really horribly, even when the horrible behavior is consistent, somehow they get a pass. " He/She didn't mean it. " " He/She is just going through a lot of stress. " etc, etc, etc. -Annie > > Holy cow! Has anyone seen this movie?
