Guest guest
This is interesting and I have been struggling/experimenting with this signal. When I am really listening to my body, I feel that I know the exact point at which I no longer need to eat. There are times when I stop right there, do not take another bite and feel fine about it. However, lately I have been experimenting with eating until I am no longer interested in food. Not stuffed or over-full, but the point at which food no longer appeals to me. This point is often past the first point. Funny, I feel more nourished and it is much easier to stop when I eat the second way, but I wonder if I am eating a bit past my maintenance level? I will continue to think about and experiment with this. As if something shifted in my 'entitlement' to a few more bites after fullness. Also, I am amazed at how much resistence I have to feel the 'satisfied' marker. When I allow myself to feel whatever stage of fullness, it's amazing how clear the message is. I seem to start resisting just as I am closely approaching the 'satisfied' level. Thank you!Vera

Guest guest
I had a day like that yesterday! I eat everything I wanted and it did feel wrong to me. I'm new to this process so have to stick out days like that! > > > > Subject: Re: The dangerous teeter-totter > To: IntuitiveEating_Support > Date: Saturday, December 17, 2011, 11:53 PM > > > > > > > > I hear you; I'm working on the concept of not resorting to " working harder " on IE when I feel fat and trusting my body and this process. I'm in my fat jeans right now - and they're tight all over. But, I'm not going to panic as I do believe this is working. Just not like a diet where the only goal is weight loss - which is always temporary. Hang in there. Sandarah >
