Guest guest
WELCOME BACK, ZANNA!!!! We missed you. I was starting to have Zanna-withdrawals. Thank God you're back. LOL. So, did you have a nice time with your parents?? You've got to fill us in on they're visit and everything you did. I bet you all had a ball. Sorry to hear that you got sick and still aren't feeling well. Bummer! Leave it to you!! What happened to Kylie for her 5th grade pix is EXACTLY what happened to Marlee last year. I only wish her teacher would have sent a photo of her to the yearbook committee. We also got a class photo and Marlee wasn't in that one either. I was very sad about it, actually. I'm glad you got lots of rest during your IVIG's. Hopefully your hip will feel normal soon. Glad to have you back!! Dawn mrsxanadu@... wrote: > Hi guys! > > Sorry I haven't been on much. Guest guest
Hi ya Alana! So happy to have you back :-) I totally understand what you had to say - IE is always 'here' for us and hard to 'lose' for sure - lol. Taking a vacation from mindfulness is restful as well as good since it allows us to see that choice as a positive one that we can and will embrace gratefully. Bet you have found that you still do a lot of IE without having to consciously 'work' at it. Ah the feast of IE where the foods never get stale, disappear or have a rat trap set inside - HA HA!! ehugs! Katcha IEing since March 2007 > > For those that don't know me, my name is Alana and I have been doing IE for 4-5 years. > I really got comfortable with IE, maybe a little too comfortable. I think I thought I didn't need to focus or work at it anymore. I started a new job in September and while it all has been a very positive move for me and not very stressful, it was still stressful. I stepped away from being aware of my body and being mindful. And then we've had about 5 potlucks and a cookie exchange. They have been lots of fun but I have been eating just ybecause the food is there. So I have returned to the group as it does help keep me focused on IE, body awareness and being mindful. And I am returning to asking my body if its hungry prior to just blindly eating. While IE isn't work or a struggle like the diet world, it does still take being constantly aware of our bodies, mind (those voices in our heads) and our emotions. > So here is a New Years Toast to the re-committment to IE and mindfulness. > Cheers! > Alana >
Guest guest
Hi Alana and Everyone, Welcome back, Alana. I know what you're going through. IE is a challenge, but sooooo much better than dieting. You mentioned New Year's. When I was a dieter, I used to make grandiose New Year's Resolutions about this or that diet that would be the Magic to give me the slender body I'd always wanted. It's been over 2 years now since I Gave Up Dieting for good, and you wouldn't believe the difference in my outlook. Because I know that I won't be starving myself at the first of the year, I don't have this urge to eat everything in sight--while I still can. Instead, I'm much calmer and able to enjoy whatever I do choose to eat. Don't get me wrong, I'm not what you'd call thin, and I still struggle with food issues sometimes, but I was just thinking about how my attitude really is changing and had to share.
