Guest guest
Apparently Lyme can me passed on and also can come from other insects besides ticks. :-(We are doing GFCF, Feingold and LOD. Haven't made it to GAPS yet. ;-) Thanks so much everyone for all your helpful replies!!!!Question: How could my little 3 year old catch Lyme disease? We're not outdoorsey people. Hi Cheryl,As always, thxs so much for your advise. I will say, looking back I guess I panicked! Last Dec. my son turned 3, started Pre-School, he caught Croup cough virus, the skin on his stomach had a big rough patch, he had a constant runny nose, then caught Bronchitus and all of the kids in his class were consistently sick. His Pediatrician Dr put him on a Antiviral medicine called Tammi Flu, then a Steroid, then a Nebulizer followed by an antibiotic. Just got crazy, the Dr asked to stop Valtrex Difflucan while on the meds he prescribed, so I stopped everything, including the vitamins, probiotics, B12 shots, Gluthadione Transdermal cream Enhansa...just stopped it all, he was so sick, cranky from all the meds. Oh and the constant fevers, it was just insane he couldn't catch a break. I just wanted his little body to take a break from it all. The antibiotics was scary, because he hadn't gotten any in his whole 2 year old of life, nor any vaccinations...I just don't trust anything anymore! The paralysis on his face would come and go...it's not as visible but when he trys to pronounce certain words he twists his mouth...best described like Popeye and he locks his jaw, kind of like the old fashioned wolfman. I'm constantly massaging his little face jaw and have an appt with the Neurologist next week....not sure how they'll help but he's always day dreaming often and I'm hoping they aren't mini seizures. I've stopped all vitamins, probiotics, difflucan Valtrex for 3 months now...have lost faith in what I'm doing. My DAN's prices have gone up to $300 per hour!!!! + all the tests they want us to do would all come out to $900. Plus all the ABA therapies at $500 per month, all on one income...can't help but think how hard it was for you everyone else on this forum! Someone on this forum mentioned Parasites may be a possibilities and Google mentioned it could be Ramsey Hunt, dormant meassles or chicken pox. Not sure where to go from here??? I have been looking at this GAPs diet which sounds promissing. Again, I wish I knew whom to turn to or where to go from here....I'm feeling like I'm running out of gas...thanks again for your response. Wish I knew what tests are the most important to uncover this puzzle? From: cheryl biomed.mom ; To: <mb12 valtrex >; Subject: Re: Facial Paralysis from Valtrex???? Sent: Sat, Feb 26, 2011 4:58:17 PM Lyme is a big offender for BP. Cheryl ~http://www.gryffins-tail.blogspot.com~ ~@Gryffins_Tail~ I had this. When my Lyme was treated with intensive antibiotics,it went away. Tammy F. Ever since I started Valtrex with Difflucan I noticed a slight paralysis on one side around my sons mouth and cheek area. I had stopped both meds after a month hopeing it would go away but 2 months later he still has it. It's most noticible when he's trying to speak. I googled it and found Bells Palsey a viral condition or Ramsey Hunt (a dormant Chicken Pox outbreak). Is there anything I could do to restore his facial paralysis he's only 3 years old, will this be permanent should I go back to Valtrex to see if it will reverse it...Where's Cheryl these days? -- Toni------Mind like a steel trap...Rusty and illegal in 37 states.
