According to my book " Could it be B12, The Epidemic of a Misdiagnosis " says that

if you are going to have anesthesia, be sure to supplement B12, as it's used up.

If your child is already low, ask your DAN how much to supplement. The good

news is that - you can't OD on B12, it's water soluble so if it's not used, it

goes out when he pees.

The second thing I would suggest is a holistic dentist if you can afford it.

Our (my) dentist is Dr. Glaros in Houston, and he won't do root canals. He says

you should just remove the tooth. I had a very hard time with that concept, and

then he threw down the research. It's compelling. So much so, I had a

'problem' tooth removed, and a fake one put in. We did the same thing for my

brother Rob. (thank God it was only one tooth, I was fearful he would have a

mouth full of dentures.) -- He got his done in FL by Dr. .

If you are a 'reader' -- you might find the book " Nutrition and Physical

Degeneration by Weston Price (a dentist) --interesting and full of good

information. this was the source of info from my holistic dentist (that I had to

buy the book and read it.)

Also, I forgot to mention - have you heard of " Oil Pulling? " -- it's real easy,

you put about a tablespoon of sesame seed oil in your mouth (coconut works well

too) swish it for 10-20 min. Spit it out. It helps with lots of things.

(Especially helping with dental issues)

I make my brother do it. (He's 26!)

Makes your teeth whiter. I don't have stains on my teeth, and I probably should

from all the coffee I drink. (and all the blueberries I eat!)

My daughter did fine with novocaine. Just DO NOT use nitrous oxide!!

My son is 4.5 year old and recently he was found to have serious tooth decay in his 2 upper central incisor teeth. One is so serious that his pediatric dentist asked us to consider root canal to avoid damage to the nerves.

The dentist said he would use local anesthesia to reduce the pain during the treatment, but I am too concerned about the side effects of the anesthesia, and am also concerned about any possible trauma that he might develop.

Any experienced parents, please give me some advice. Should I delay or avoid the root canal? If the treatment is inevitable what should I do to prepare for the treatment? We will see the dentist next week.

Oh. Thank you . It is a very good info. I just checked my son's latest test results and he is deficient in phosphorus. Ref range shown here is 350-1700ug/mg creatinin here and my son's were 107, and then 152. No wonder why we are having so many decays. He had anesthesia 3 times already but I did not know anything about this stuff back then. He has a bad decay now and I am not going for anesthesia anymore. He also would not open his mouth for the dentist and I really do not know what to do.  Do you happen to have any idea how much of phosphorus I can give to a 7 year-old ?

Thank you . What you suggested really makes sense to me. Before I posted

my question I was so nervous about the root canal, though I could not tell why.

I will cancel the appointment, and ask the dentist just to fill the decayed

teeth or pull them out if the problem becomes too serious.

Thanks again for giving this invaluable information. I also thank and

other parents who replied.

>

> Oh and , I forgot to tell you one thing. When a person's phosphorus is

low, no matter how much brushing you do, he WILL have decay. I would encourage

you to have a nutritional panel drawn on him so you can check his levels. He

may benefit from supplementation.
