Guest guest
Have you tried a salt water test? From reading all these posts on this forum and in the files section, it *seems* your fast pulse and heart pounding could be due to low sodium. Or it could even be low potassium since HC will make the potassium go low. I guess you could try each and see what happens. Also accompanied by slight shortness of breath at that time. > > If it weren't for my heart racing periodically, I would guess that I need to raise my NT since I'm only on 2 grains (almost all of my thyroid was removed). > > Still on 30 mg of HC as well. > Thanks, > in CA >

Guest guest
No, I haven't tried the saltwater test (it's just drinking a glass of saltwater, right?) but I probably will do that tomorrow. Maybe start my day with a banana, too, for potassium.... THanks for the tip! Guest guest
I think you need to take a good 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon salt to see if this works or not. If you have adrenal issues, I would skip that bananna, though! ;-) It's very high glycemic! There's also only about 400 mg potassium in one bannana. You probably need a lot more potassium to see if that's your issue. Do you have any potassium caps? The " fake " salt is potassium chloride and I used to use that when my potassium was low. It's cheap! I would try salt, then potassium and not at the same time or you won't be able to tell which one is helping. So maybe do the salt water first and if that doesn't work, try potassium. If it's low sodium, I think it works fairly fast, like within a half hour. If you go to the files section, I think Nick wrote something about the salt water test. It's on the rt3 website he made. Hopefully the link to that site is in the files.
