I have no scientific information to back this up. I was thinking

about your issue last night around 2 am when I was up with my 2 year

old (not CHARGE). For some reason, he just did not want to sleep. He

was up until about 4, and then got up for the day at 6 am. He

normally sleeps through until 7-8 am. Periodically, he has times

where he just does not sleep well. Our pediatrician attributes it to

the ever-encompasing " stage " explaination (you know, its just a

stage). We just try to mog on and keep things as normal as possible

and he will go back to his routine (not as easy for me, though ;-)).

We often wonder if he is dreaming or having separation issues.

Anyway, I am assured that it is normal and it will pass. I don't know

how much of this applies since Carmen also has CHARGE issues to deal

with, but perhaps she is just going through a " stage? " I know this is

really of no help, but I just wanted to let you know that even parents

without CHARGErs get to deal with the all night parties!
