I just completed 4 rounds of A/C and my next scheduled treatment is

Taxotere. I have to work and I need some input on what the side

effects are in order to know how much time I have to take off work.

Have people had to take some days off immediately after the Taxotere

or were the side effects delayed to like day 3 or 4. Also did you

have to go home early from work or be out a whole day due to fatigue

or other side effects and what day would that occur on.

I start Taxotere next week….Here

is what I found on the web about the side effects. I’m on a chemo

group and the ladies that are ahead of me mostly complain about the muscle/bone

pain and the numbness/tingling/burning in their hands and feet. They have

also mentions changes in their nails turning yellow or black. These are

all mentioned below.

The most common severe side effects are low white–blood-cell count, anemia, fatigue, diarrhea,

and mouth and throat irritation. Low white–blood-cell count can lead to

life-threatening infections. The earliest sign of infection may be fever, so tell your doctor right away if you

have a fever.

Other common side effects from Taxotere® include nausea, vomiting, hair

loss, rash, infusion-site reactions, odd sensations (such as numbness,

tingling, or burning) or weakness in the hands and feet, nail changes, muscle

and/or bone pain, or excessive tearing.
