Guest guest
This month, those who are on Social Security DisabilityInsurance (SSDI) will already have had your (our) checksfrom the U.S. Treasury deposited in our accounts and/oren route to our mail boxes, as due to the holidays, the checks have been dated January 1st instead of January 3d.I just phoned my bank, as I have automatic deposit; bothmy SSDI and my SSI (Supplemental Income) are there.Had I known this, I could have brought food to my cousin'sNew Year's potluck luncheon today, and something for dinner as it is Friday and I was invited to stay for Shabbat. So, as it is, I can at least surprise them tomorrow!Love to each of you, and I hope that for many this newsmay perk you up a bit on this 2nd day of the New Year,n
Guest guest
I also got my check earlier than expected. I guess I forgot that this first was a holiday, so they send it early. Mine was deposited and spent before the first even got here. I am SO desperate for income tax time...earned income credit helps alot. We look forward to it every year, especially since we didn't get much last year because we filed bankruptcy. We have alot of catching up to do. What are you making to take to your potluck?Jolie

Guest guest
Now the mystery thickens.... today I got a notice from Social Security correcting a notice (they say) they sent several weeks ago. Supposedly that first notice told me my check would come a week earlier this month but now they are correcting that to say I won't get it a week early after all. The thing is I never actually got the first notice they said they sent! I'm glad they didn't send me the first notice because I would really be bummed out now, wouldn't I? Ahh... you've gotta love the government and their efficiency, eh? hugs Sharonjoin me on Facebook:Sharon Mars wobbletowalk@...This email is a natural hand made product. Guest guest
Sharon... I just got notice that they needed me to report something about my income that they had received on their records (guess they were informing me that if it wasn't me working, someone else was using my social).. but they were asking for info from 2006 and 2007... maybe part of 2008 as well... I actually got a raise in my SSDI check for this coming year.. BUT.. hold on, slow down.. it wasn't a COLA increase.. it was because of my working and me not requesting the adjustments monthly or something like that.. I got a large check in December.. to make up that $37 difference for all those months.. and then the increase this year.. will get another, very very small one at the end of this year if I don't take my w-2 into an office and ask them to do a re-comp before the system actually catches up with itself.. I think I'll let it ride.. that increase in December is what helps to pay for Christmas Eve dinner and the few gifts we give.. Believe it or not.. the Social Security Office, at least the field offices have " goals " or quotas or something they have to meet.. quarterly and yearly.. not all of them make their goals.. that takes " teamwork " .. and unfortunately.. there are some working in those offices who are just there to gain their paycheck.. not to see that their job is completed timely and accurately.. Such a shame Well.. hope today is good for you.. and that the confusion has ceased...
