Guest guest
- I thought that MB12 wasn't absorbed well orally? My other kids get subcu injections. Can we give the baby one of the shots or do you think he is too young? > > > > > > > > This will probably be a bit long but if you could bear with me, I could really > > > >use some advice! > > > > > > > > A little background: My 5 year old DS is on the mild end of the autism > > > >spectrum. Guest guest
It's not -- however, that being said, you don't need much. If you have gut issues, chances are you aren't absorbing any - which is why you place it under the tongue, which is very vascular. (Why our kids usually get shots, or use the nasal spray -- because the uptake is available due the vascular nature of the nose (nasal) and obviously, when you do shots, it gets in the blood stream.) For Sam - because I don't see any issue with his gut (yet!?) -- I give them to him in his mouth and shoot for under the tongue. If he swallows it, he probably will get some there too. I am uncomfortable giving shots to babies. (I just have a hard time with shots in general - and having seen a few documentaries on vaccines, etc. I just can't right now...) - I give shots (B12) to my brother (who is 26 - Autistic - PDD-NOS designation) and he can tell me how he feels or if something hurts, etc. My son (4 years) gets the sublingual and he chews it up and swallows it, and I know he has/had gut issues, however, we see less and less deficient signs...so I know it's working. However, if you feel like it's necessary, that's for you to decide. It's just not for me, right now (not to say that later, I wouldn't change my stance...) One of the signs for B12 deficiency is sudden loss of speech, my son had a very sudden loss of speech. Once we removed gluten and casein (dairy and wheat, all forms) he said " Mom " for the first time in 6 months within 6 days on the diet. Gluten/Casein create mucus in the gut/intestines, which prohibits the uptake of B12. (the protein molecules are large and signal the brain to create mucus-- and then if you have leaky gut...well, you know the drill) - I didn't know that at the time, but the more I read and understood what I was doing and why I was doing it, we saw improvements generally quickly. The sublingual forms (as well as the shots)take out the barrier of the intestines (due to gut issues) and gets it into the blood stream. With vitamins -- you get the same issue. It has to get uptake in the intestines, which is why I started juicing. Juicing nutrients get into the blood stream via the stomach, esophagus, mouth, etc...and is in the blood stream for utilization within 20 min, vs 3-4 hours with food or encapsulated vitamins. There is a reason to use all of these things (as I do supp with vitamins) together to get constant nutrition to the body. And if the gut is damaged -- it's important to get the nutrition there so the body can heal itself. I hope this answers your question...I sometimes get carried away. laura:) > > > > > > > > > > This will probably be a bit long but if you could bear with me, I could really > > > > >use some advice! > > > > > > > > > > A little background: My 5 year old DS is on the mild end of the autism > > > > >spectrum.
Guest guest
Thanks for the response. That makes a lot of sense. That is why my other two are on the shots - due to gut issues. My DD does not have any signs of autism but she is developmentally delayed due to the Down syndrome and constipation is a common problem with kiddos with Downs. She has done very well though but her OAT test still showed problems with the gut. My older son has been GFCFSF (and also no eggs, nuts, or anything artificial) for 2.5 years so I know the drill! :-) I will have to look up those drops that you are using. I am currently using D3 drops for the baby as well as a probiotic. I have read way too many books on vaccines and on biomed to know to not give him any vaccines! I just wish I knew that with my oldest. He was fully vaccinated but won't be getting any more (so no Kindergarten boosters). My DD got her shots through 6 months and then we stopped. Thanks again! > > > > > > > > > > > > This will probably be a bit long but if you could bear with me, I could really > > > > > >use some advice! > > > > > > > > > > > > A little background: My 5 year old DS is on the mild end of the autism > > > > > >spectrum. Guest guest
I'm gonna butt-in for a sec. Most kids respond better to injections because of gut and absorbtion issues. My son took oral b12 for quite a while before seeing a dan for the first time. He switched us off the oral and wrote an rx for the injections. we did a six week trial and there was no difference, better or worse. My son had started to complain that the last couple of shots had burned so the doc and I agreed to drop the b12 and go ahead with a trial of 5mthf. (His FIGLU (I think it was) indicate that he was deficient in either b12 or folic. ) We had started with a clean slate when we started seeing the dan. so when we dropped the injections, I didn't go back to the oral and man! it didn't take long for it to show. The kid needs b12 in a bad way. So I think if there's not too much of a problem with absorbtion and gut issies, either/or will get a positive response. Now that we've completely removed gluten 100%, I might give the shots a second chance in a few months just to see if it makes that much of a difference with the gluten and it's mucous gone : ) - tammy To: mb12 valtrex Sent: Mon, February 28, 2011 11:49:54 AMSubject: Re: Having concerns about my 7 month old.
Advice needed please! To: mb12 valtrex Date: Monday, February 28, 2011, 10:54 AM Hi - I actually use my health food store brand. It's just got (methyl) B12 and raspberry flavor (no alcohol)...I will see if I can find a brand on line. For 2 oz it costs about $16, and lasts about a month (because my other 2 see Sam get it, and they want some too...) When we first started B12 for Jimmy (my almost recovered child) he would fall asleep after a high dose of B12. And that eventually went away. For Sam (my 7 month old) -- I can't tell if he's hyperactive or just being active...he's super active. Climbs on everything, and has managed to get face bruises from the face slams (although he is getting better) - but he's at least 1 full month ahead of 'milestones' in comparison to his older siblings. It could be that he wants to 'catch up with him' so there is some motivation...But it's noticeable, and significant (from my perspective.) We give Jimmy "Naturally Calm" - which is a mag supplement and that made him no longer 'hyperactive' -- when we miss a dose, he starts with the running thru dinner routine...so we don't miss a dose. I hope this helps. For Jimmy (he's 35 lbs/4 years) we give 1 mg of B12, in a supplement with B6, Biotin, and Folic Acid. This seems to working at the moment. I also give RevitaPops (I LOVE THESE)...too. This is the one we use currently. http://www.wonderlabs.com/Sublingual-B12_i3292 laura > > > > This will probably be a bit long but if you could bear with me, I could really > >use some advice! > > > > A little background: My 5 year old DS is on the mild end of the autism > >spectrum. Guest guest
Actually Tammy, I'm glad you 'butted' in..lol! Rob gets shots, and I swear he does SO much better on the nasal spray (it's way messier). So when he gets back, I am going to finish what we have left of the shots and go back to nasal spray (and sublinguals) -- and then I will be able to get a real read on the differences. His DAN nor I understand why he just needs so much of the stuff...he burns right thru it now. And I am going to institute my 'natural' detox protocol since all his mercury is out -- and see where it takes us. I am looking into the Andy Cutler protocol. (as it will take me a month to figure out if it's something I would be willing to try on him.) :)laura > > > > > > > > > > This will probably be a bit long but if you could bear with me, I could > >really > > > > > > >use some advice! > > > > > > > > > > A little background: My 5 year old DS is on the mild end of the autism > > > > >spectrum.
Guest guest
- sometimes the consistency of the juice - is what they tend not to like. The other thing - keep it simple until they get used to it. like Carrot and apple is really good. Golden Delicious Apple and 3 carrots - tastes wonderful - and it's a natural detox for aluminum. (I just figured this out recently). And there isn't a lot of pulp. Pears/Kale is great source of iodine and calcium, easy on the belly. (can be a little frothy) I love juicing with pineapple too. My basic was 1/2 pineapple, 1/2 lemon (rind removed), 1/2 inch ginger, 1 pear (peeled and seeds removed) or apple (peel and seeds removed). Apple/Celery/Carrot is good. What are you juicing? Or better yet...what foods did you add to your juicer drink? :)laura > >> > > >> > This will probably be a bit long but if you could bear with me, I could > >>really > >> > >> >use some advice! > >> > > >> > A little background: My 5 year old DS is on the mild end of the autism > >> >spectrum. Guest guest
,Which ingredient- golden del apples or carrots- will detox aluminum? Thanks,Ps just started LePore book. Thanks for recommending!Sent from my iPhone - sometimes the consistency of the juice - is what they tend not to like. Guest guest
It's the malic acid in apples, when you juice them with carrots it helps work with the minerals to create this synergistic effect. Max Gerson (the guy who cured hopeless cases of cancer) said to drink it 5 times a day (for his hopeless cases)... laura:) > > >> > > > >> > This will probably be a bit long but if you could bear with me, I could > > >>really > > >> > > >> >use some advice! > > >> > > > >> > A little background: My 5 year old DS is on the mild end of the autism > > >> >spectrum.
