Your offering to buy his beer is smart, you are, believe it or not, being a good mom. As for me, I have shrimp and French bread for dinner, and a bottle of bubbly, which I will share with my neighbor . House is clean, got a few dishes to do but they will be done in plenty of time. I will probably spend part of the evening playing WoW with Robbin, he has his own account now so we go on together and I bring in my high level toons and help him with the quests (a bit like you did for me when I started playing RS, which, yes, I still play). I have, for tomorrow: Pork which I will slow simmer with sauerkraut, black-eyed peas, will make a jonny-cake (cornbread), and have some collard greens to go with it all. If I need it (like, yeah, riiiight) I also have some bacon I can cook up... ~*~Hugs~*~ ~*~Akiba~*~ -- Re: Plans for New Year's Eve? My plans...I've already put on the pork roast.. to which I'll add sauerkraut, then kielbasa, then the hot dogs.. later this evening.I've loaded the dishwasher for it's first run today.. and if the kitchen isn't clean by midnight I'm gonna be one unhappy camper.. cause we don't need the added superstition of "how it is at midnight, it will be the rest of the year" to our messy kitchen.. it's usually that way anyway.. I'd like to see counter tops this coming year.. ROFL... (chair comes in handy for this stuff)...I've invited my youngest son to come over and spend the evening with us.. Even offered to buy him his beer or whatever he wants to drink.. with the provision.. the second he has a drink, he turns over his truck keys for the night.. I'll party with him till I make myself sick, if need be... And we'll arrange the 3 computers here so that we can all play Runescape if he wants..I know offering to buy him the booze is awful.. BUT.. I'd rather have him here, safe & warm than out with friends and drinking and driving.. I'll do anything it takes.. Especially with the 3 inches of solid rain dumped on the roads this morning!.. and more coming...And then we'll eat the traditional.. pork & sauerkraut .. the other goodies are an added bonus..But I'd be willing to bet that I'll be sleeping before 1.. Thanks Donna, but no thanks. I definitely don't want any of that "Thick rain". Even though we desperately need water. But snow? No thanks. To: MSersLife Sent: Thu, December 31, 2009 11:47:55 PMSubject: Re: Plans for New Year's

I think we will probably just go to bed. We had our son and g-daughter here from Christmas Eve until Tues. morning and our daughter, son in law and grandson came the 26th and will leave sometime today. My fibromyalgia is really acting up so going to bed early will be a welcome treat.

Yes more than likely we will go to bed. My legs are so swollen they are all shiny and hard as a rock. Guess I over did since Christmas but it was worth it to have all the kids home for the holidays.

Thanks for saying that I was being a good mom Akiba.. I know that I'm

truly not... but sometimes being a selfish mom is okay too.. He didn't

come over, which is okay too.. cause he DID stay at home with his dad..

The food was good, early in the evening.. but even more so yesterday,

after it had continue to cook in the slow cooker all night & day.. I

think I need to remember how good it is, so that during the coming year

I put that roast on the night before we plan to eat it..

Here's to hoping that the coming year will be better than last year was!

I actually messed up mine, as in I didn't cook it at all. And it won't get done today either since I am going to go see Robbin today. Tomorrow *sigh* maybe... I fell on New Year's eve and am sporting a bit of a shiner and just didn't feel like cooking through the headache..
