Guest guest
Dear , sorry for intruding in your trend with no advice for you, I hope others can help! But!!! I read you are pregnant and I am tremendously interested in knowing about your experience (and I believe there are other ladies here which may also be interested). Did you get pregnant when on T3 only? I have a rT3 problem and started on cynomel shortly ago. I am 40 and have been trying to get pregnant for more than 5 years now. I don't know if T3 only will work for me or if I will have to stay on it or I will be able to come back to Armour (or any other brand) but I wonder whether one can get pregnant on T3 only and whether a pregnancy can be carried to term with this treatment. I have tried to find information on the topic but I can't find anything. I have asked my doctor and he said there is no literature on the topic and he has no experience so he can't help me with this. I will appreciate enormously to hear about your story! > > Hi Val, > Happy New year all! > > I've been on NT now for 3 weeks (cleared my RT3) and thought I was doing pretty well on it EXCEPT that I am now experiencing unexplained bruises again (arms and legs). I was on 60 mcg of T3 those last weeks of my 12 week period before I switched as that seemed to be enough for me and now I am taking 2 grains of NT. I tried to raise my NT by 1/2 or even 1/4 grain but I get a pounding heart. My ferritin was close to 70 last time I had it checked so I think I'm OK there. > > Any ideas? Guest guest
That's no problem, , I'm happy to reply to your questions. Yes, I conceived while on T3 only (not on purpose). I'm 37 and did have a miscarriage last April before this pregnancy(and I have had 6 children and 4 miscarriages in my 15 years of marriage). I had hoped to clear my RT3 first and get 100% well but Providence intervened. I was doing fine on T3 with the pregnancy but really wanted to stick to my plan of switching back to NT so I did that. I will have my RT3 tested again in a month or so to see if I'm still OK there. My naturopathic Dr. was not worried with either approach. You might consider trying using some natural progesterone cream which I have read helps support the thyroid as well as regulate hormones necessary for a successful pregnancy. Once I found out I was pregnant, I used the cream 3 times a day for the first 12 weeks of pregnancy and then weaned off.
