" This is my experience to a T. The outside world doesn't understand that while encroaching dementia is a sad thing in any old person, in a BPD person it just seems to take symptoms they already had and make them worse and worse and worse. My BPD mother accused my husband this month of trying to steal her money and her house. Nothing could be farther from the truth. I said, " You've known him for thirty years, has he ever seemed even slightly interested in money, especially yours? " He hasn't, but she in Suspicion Mode now. Also the hallucinations, seeing people in the house who aren't there. She falsely accused her daily helper guy of elder abuse, and I had to step in and keep the hospital from investigating him....
