Guest guest
Lelia... it's true, my prosthesis is heavy. It feels strange when I'm handling it, but then feels so perfectly natural while I'm wearing it. Just amazes me.How is your friend doing? Please give her my best wishes. Last year I took my dentist's wife over to thehospital outpatient dept to have a permanent port for them to check her blood and give her chemothrough after her double mastectomy. While waiting for the nurse (who had had breast cancer too)come she showed me her new "boobs". I immediately commented on how heavy each one was; then Ithought bet the real ones are too so I "hand tested" mine and found they're heavy too. We justdissolved in laughter!Lelia
Guest guest
Annette So glad that your prosthesis is fitting so well. I finally had to have one custom made and it still isn't right. Keep trying to convenes them to whack my other one off but no luck so far. Teddi mailto:teddifromok@...

Guest guest
You know, Teddi... I totally understand your comment about wanting the other one whacked off. That was my feeling at first. I'm getting more and more comfortable the way things are now, though. I think I'm lucky I got a good fit and that I feel natural in it. I know many women have a hard time getting the right fit. Have you considered going somewhere else to be fitted? Annette -----Original Message-----From: TeddiFromOK@... Guest guest
Annette since mine was custom made my insurance won't pay for another one for at least another 2 - 3 years. Teddi mailto:teddifromok@...

Guest guest
My insurance stopped paying altogether for breast prostheses starting this December, so I got in just under the wire. Gonna have to save up for my next one. The girl told me they usually last about two years. I just love the fact that most insurance companies cover Viagra for men, but balk at paying for women's breast needs. It's a man's world, huh? Annette -----Original Message-----From: TeddiFromOK@... Guest guest
Hi Annette, It isn't always a mans world but I think it is a very discriminatory world. The insurance companies are to be blamed for a lot of this along with our so called politicians. I hope all is well with you.
