Hard to believe that this group has been silent today. Have to wonder if the

looming New Year hasn't triggered some Diet Mentality - hmmm? Hopefully it just

the opposite - everyone is happily enjoying family, some time off and looking

forward to the upcoming year with good thoughts about having IE in our lives.

No, I just figured I had already posted too much over the past several days, and

that I ought to be doing something else with my time, and then it would be a

nice surprise to read all the posts that had been made in my absence.

Also, I have been thinking A LOT about the post (and I am really really sorry

that I don't remember whose, and can,t find it again now) about living one's

life--having someone telling her that he (or she) had to fight with himself

every single day ov food in order to stay skinny, and tht all skinny people have

to do that, and what an absolute waste of a life that would be. That idea

really scared me, because that's us not the way I want to spend my life, and I'm

wondering how much time and energy and well-being I have already sacrificed to

thinking about food. Too much! I'm sure. What kinds of memories do we want to

have when our lives are almost over (whenever that may be--it could be in thirty

years, it could be tomorrow)? What do we want top he texture of our days to be

like? What do we care about? How have we affected other people's lives? What

difference have we made in the world?

So no, not diet mentality, but taking stock.

Thanks for asking.

Also just thinking about stuff today.. Tilley, I think you are referring to

something in one of my posts when i mentioned the biggest loser trainer, Bob,

say that maintaining a weight loss is a struggle everyday. I posted it because

at first when I heard it it scared me, then made me sad. Now, I am just angry

about it. How ridiculous to expect people to STRUGGLE everyday of their life if

they want to be thin. This is exactly what IE is NOT about.

Today I spent a lot of time re-evaluating me. Your points are very valid. What

kind of person am I? I am done putting my life on hold until I am skinny. (if

and when that ever happens). I am aware now that I am going to have to do a lot

of re-training my thinking and feel I am up for the challenge.

On a good note, a small victory for me today. I made homemade pizza with my

daughter. I had a piece and my initial reaction was to get another right away.

However, Today, I stopped and realized I was not hungry, so I went to play Dance

Party on our new xbox kinect with my daughter for an hour instead and had a

blast. (and am now all sweaty too, lol).

Have a good one!

Yes, we have been so led astray by diet mentality! We actually complicated a

very simple and basic thing - eating to sustain our lives.

Good reflections! Take it as 'easy' as possible and I bet you will find that

your efforts bare fruit too.

How wild, we just had a homemade pizza last night too! It came out as near

perfect as we like it - 5 cheeses, no tomato sauce, fresh herbs and toppings of

each of our likings. We YUMMED thru a large slice each and the rest has been put

aside for another time when we will enjoy it again - breakfast perhaps?

Great choice for you! Bet you didn't think about that pizza at all during your

Dance Party. That tells you how much you didn't want or need another slice of

it. Bravo for the baby step :-)
