Guest guest
... of course we all have to thank you.... it is my personal motto... never miss the opportunity to thank a soldier for standing in the gap for us. I had nothing to do with the help, but thank you, we really are a grateful nation. Get some rest when you can, be safe, and if you want a care package or know of someone who does, let me know, we send out about a dozen a week. Also let me know what you would like in the care package, the needs are different in every area. Thanks again..... Is that right? It seems like I was just a little kid thinking that my parents would live forever. I still miss them. Is that normal to miss your parents even though they've been gone so long? My son, woke me up this morning around 5 or so. He was experiencing a shocking sensation in the middle of his chest. I could tell he was scared. He said that it wasn't the same kind of pain that he gets with his reflux disease. He wanted me to call 9-1-1 for him. Nick was sweaty, but he seemed alert and coherent. His breathing was a little erratic, but other than that, he seemed to just have this shocking sensation. I called 9-1-1 and told the dispatcher what was going on. 5 people showed up via two separate ambulances. They checked Nick's O2 sats without O2, then with the O2. After they took a mini EKG strip and disconnected the O2, they did another oximeter reading and his O2 sats had dropped back down to 92-93. When the paramedic asked me if I wanted them to take Nick to the hospital, I should have told them to take him to the hospital and I would get dressed and follow in my car, but I couldn't think beyond saying that it was up to Nick. Nick is only 22 and has so many health issues going on. I know I should encourage him to keep seeking health care, but so many medical professionals just want to say that he has depression or anxiety, or both. I am encouraging Nick to stick to a GERD diet. I printed off a list of foods that he should avoid, and a list of foods that he can try with caution. Nick had spaghetti last night made with stir fry vegetables and tomato sauce. He ate it and seemed to handle it okay, at least, better than how he handled the ravioli the night before. When I was younger, maybe in my teens, my mom used to say, "just wait until you have kids". I'm not quite sure what she meant, even to this day. I would yell back that I was never going to have kids. For a long time, I didn't. My sister's oldest was born in 1976, my oldest was born in 1987, when I was in my 30s. Often, I would get comments about how I had my kids late in life. To those comments, I would reply, my kids came along when they were meant to. Even, when I told my parents that I was pregnant, my mom told me that I was too old. I should get an abortion. (Please, I don't want to start a debate on this topic, but I just couldn't do it. Abortion shouldn't be used as a form of birth control. This is what I told my mom) Having kids changes everything. My kids sure gave me a different view of the world around us, especially when we were on our bellies in the grass watching the bugs, or on our backs, watching the clouds. I'm older, my kids are older, and those days of our youth are long gone. But, it seems like they just happened. Where has the time gone? Thanks to those who sent birthday wishes to me. Guest guest
Dear DonnaHow long have your parents been gone? My father died in '83 and my mother in '94 and I miss them still. I dream sometimes that my dad is on my front porch. It's a comforting dream for me. You and I are the nearly the same age. I will be 59 next June. It's funny--you had your oldesd child in '87 and my oldest grandchild was born that same year. The years do speed by, don't they? At the same time it also seems like time passes slowly. How is Nick today? hugs Sharonjoin me on Facebook:Sharon Mars wobbletowalk@...This email is a natural hand made product. Nick had spaghetti last night made with stir fry vegetables and tomato sauce. He ate it and seemed to handle it okay, at least, better than how he handled the ravioli the night before. When I was younger, maybe in my teens, my mom used to say, " just wait until you have kids " . Guest guest
Happy almost Birthday...How is doing now? ~*~Hugs~*~ ~*~Akiba~*~ -- thank you I just can't believe that my birthday is next week and I'll be 59. Guest guest
Thank you to all who responded to my feeling of being " overwhelmed " ! You are so helpful and knowledgeable! I will have a look at the sites you provided and get my head around a few things. Also, the books look like good reads. I looked at the symptoms of PANDA and I realize there are some similarities (especially with the scarlet fever), except he is not clingy (always pushing his boundaries with me!)and he does not have any tics or OCD behaviors. The information about the heart is incredible (and scary!) I do know there is a HUGE difference in my older son when he is off wheat, more focused and a LOT less emotional/impulsive/tendency to lie etc. I have not seen the same " result " with my 8 year old, but that may be because he " sneaks " his Dad's wheat bread unbeknown to me! Maybe I need dead locks for the bread too? How do I get the GCF diet to work with my 8 year old when Dad insists on having these foods on hand for his wants and needs? I have tried to explain to my 8 year old that he is better off without them, but he knows they taste so good! My 14 year old understands and has the will power, plus he KNOWS how much better he feels without them! I swear my husband would feel so much better without them too, but is unwilling to forgo them at this point, and don't even mention trying to take away his potatoes! I know I need to get my 8 year old to a DAN doctor and have him evaluated, especially for allergies to know exactly what triggers him. Keep up the great work everyone, you are all an integral part of piecing these clues together for the common good of kids everywhere.
