Guest guest
" It's okay to stop eating now. " For some reason, putting it that way sounds so comforting to me. When I think about it, sometimes it is as if I feel I have to want to keep on eating. Maybe something I learned in childhood? I grew up on a farm, food being the only thing we had in abundance. We were always encouraged to eat heartily, as were guests in our home. It was also how my mom expected us to show love, by eating whatever new recipe she had come up with for the day. Maybe I really need to hear that it's okay to stop eating now. That's a lightbulb moment for me. Thanks so much for sharing. > > Mimi! > > > Wow.... sometimes it's just some little thing someone says that smacks you right between the eyes. > > I've been focusing on giving myself permission to eat. Sometimes I eat way past full and still don't be able to come to a stop. It never occurred to me to tell myself, " It's OK to stop eating now. " I've been internally yelling, " Stop eating! " and " Why can't I stop? " But permission to stop..... you've given me whole new territory to check into. > > Ellie > > > > > >________________________________ > > > > > > > > > >I am also a bit discouraged, but trying to remember how much IE has taught me. I now can reliably feel that point in my body when it would be OK to stop eating. > > >
