Is he gluten free as well? What brand of rice milk are you using? b12 was great, but made my guy nutty as well--what helped was spacing out the shots--we couldn't do every day--we started at every 3 days and it took a long time to even get to every other day.

One day at a time.

hope this helps

No, I hate to say, we're not all the way gfcf yet, and I know that's a big part of the problem. I don't even know if yeast fighters will work if I'm still giving him gluten and potatoes **hangs head**. We're working on that.

We're using Rice Dream, the organic, plain, soy-free type.

Hmmm. We're already on an every-3-days schedule with the shots. I wonder if we should try spacing it out even more...?

Soraya,

You'll get there, you will probably see huge gains when you do. Tantrums used

to be a daily part of our day - like 20 times a day - once we got rid of

milk/wheat/gluten/casein -- he was very sweet, but weepy...we got that under

control too...baby steps. Hang in there.

...and I know it's hard to stay encouraged... :(

yes, Flagyl is an Rx...it worked well for Jimmy. He did both at the same time.

That made me a bit nervous, as it's really hard on the liver - but it worked out

okay. Just make sure he's drinking/eating going to the bathroom regularly.

This isn’t probably much help since you are already on difulcan but our DAN (dr. green in Oregon) recommended Nystatin over Difulcan. We had the hardest time getting our son to take it since it is so bitter but the compounding pharmacy was able to mix it in a powdered form. We mix ¼ teaspoon with a teaspoon of maple syrup and doesn’t mind it that way. Cheers, mardi

Just FYI - Rice Dream has gluten in it. It's a 'trace amount' (per the company), but my understanding is that even trace amounts can cause issues.

It contains arsenic, too. Someone here had mentioned it before. And it's also mentioned in taca's Families with Autism Journey Guide. Arsenic in Perdue chicken, too....even their "natural" chkn. What a bummer.

Hey guys, I have always struggled to get my son's yeast under control, but since we put him on rice milk and b12 shots again in December hisyeast is soooo much worse. Constant stims, maniacal laughter,

practically climbing the walls, rigidity and aggression/tantrums.We're trying another round of diflucan (we've tried a few roundsbefore but we really didn't see anything, I think b/c he wasn'tgetting full doses. It's so hard to give him things by mouth and he

spit out a lot of it) but I would like to try other thingsconcurrently. What natural antifungals can I give in addition to diflucan? G,I've started my son on candex b/c of what you've said about it, and I

bought Syntol but I haven't started it yet. I have gse here but Idon't want to overtax his liver w/ the diflucan and gse together. Doyou think diflucan, candex and Syntol together might be enough or

toomuch?Thanks very much!

Okaaaay....that really sucks.  Is there a " clean " brand of rice milk?

It contains arsenic, too.  Someone here had mentioned it before.  And it's also mentioned in taca's Families with Autism Journey Guide.  Arsenic in Perdue chicken, too....even their " natural " chkn. What a bummer.

Just FYI - Rice Dream has gluten in it. It's a 'trace amount' (per the company), but my understanding is that even trace amounts can cause issues.
